Celebrating the creativity and voice of future educators, The Reflection stages Gawad Aninag 2026 at Holy Angel University (HAU) on April 14, gathering student-teachers across Central Luzon in a showcase of artistic and journalistic excellence.

Gawad Aninag, a secondary event of the Regional Convention of Teacher Education Students (REGCON), highlights the artistic and communicative skills of education students through competitions anchored on the theme "Bagani: G**o, Tinig at Pulso ng Nasyon sa Panahon ng Pagbabago," portraying teachers as modern-day heroes shaping society.

The event featured three main contests: PAGDINIG (Publicity Materials Making), PAGLALAHAD (Creative Storytelling), and PAGMULAT (Spoken Poetry).

PAGDINIG and PAGLALAHAD entries were submitted and showcased online through the publication's official page. PAGMULAT, on the other hand, was conducted on-site at the Peter G. Nepomuceno (PGN) Auditorium, where participants delivered spoken-word pieces in Filipino that reflected the realities, struggles, and heroism of teachers.

After the spoken poetry competition, the winners of REGCON and Gawad Aninag were announced. Editor-in-Chief and Gawad Aninag Director, Gabrielle Roque, set the stage by delivering a message recognizing the participants' passion and creativity.

In the Publicity Materials Making Competition, Jade Mariel V. Pareรฑo from Columban College, Inc. (CCI) clinched the Champion title. Next to her were Kim C. Gatbonton from Pampanga State University (PSU), who secured first runner-up, and Allen V. Bernardino from La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP), who was second runner-up.

For the Storytelling Competition, Maria Krisselle M. Marcelino of LCUP emerged as champion, followed by Christine D. Guiao of Holy Cross College (HCC) in second place, and Ma. Patricia Jenery Ann R. Mathys of CCI in third.

In a battle of brilliance and eloquence, Elyssa G. Manalili of Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) emerged as the Champion for the second time in the Spoken Poetry Competition. Meanwhile, Miko C. Mendoza of HCC and Jamaica F. Rosales of LCUP placed second and third, respectively.

Alongside the Gawad Aninag, Talaturu Press Conference (TPC) 2026 was also conducted, a sub-event focused on campus journalism with the theme "Ink of Dissent: Student-Journalists as Catalysts of Democracy Within and Beyond Campus Walls." The event was held online, allowing student-journalists from different institutions to participate virtually.

Simbulan bagging literary writing, and Narc Angel D. Galagar securing the champion in opinion writing. Meanwhile, Robb Gabriel I. Talaturu Press Conference is where voices rise beyond silence, where every headline begins with the courage to speak, and where every story demands to be heard.

Here, writing transcends craft; it questions the norm, challenges perspectives, and carries the weight of truth.

Behind every powerful narrative are judges who understand the responsibility and impact of every word. Meet the distinguished individuals who served as judges for the previously concluded Talaturu Press Conference 2026. Through their meticulous evaluation, they recognized the voices that dare, stories that matter, and truths that resonate.
