𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡

‎Recently, Super Typhoon Nando (international name Ragasa) made landfall in Calayan Island, Cagayan, bringing maximum sustained winds of 215 kph and gusts up to 295 kph. The storm tore through homes, schools, and coastal communities, leaving hundreds displaced, cutting off power and connectivity, and severely damaging infrastructure.

‎Now, Calayan needs more than emergency relief; they need support to rebuild homes, restore classrooms and community infrastructure, and help affected families recover their livelihoods.

‎That is why the Office of the Vice President on Internationalization, Resources, and Mobilization and the CSU University Student Council Federation are organizing a Fun Walk for Calayan to raise awareness, show solidarity, and gather resources that will go directly to relief and rebuilding efforts.

‎Registration Fee is P50, and participation is voluntary, not mandatory. The schedule for the nine satellite campuses is as follows:

‎Lasam: December 10
‎Sanchez Mira: December 12
‎Andrews: December 12
‎Aparri: December 12
‎Gonzaga: December 12
‎Piat: December 15
‎Lal-lo: December 15
‎Solana: December 15
‎Carig: December 19

‎Your step can help rebuild lives, restore hope, and show that even from far away, we stand with Calayan. 💙💛

What is the Board of Regents?

The Board of Regents (BOR) is the highest governing body of Cagayan State University. It was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 8292, also known as the Higher Education Modernization Act (HEMA) of 1997, which established a uniform governance structure for all state universities and colleges in the Philippines. Through this law, the BOR became the central decision-making body responsible for shaping the direction, policies, and priorities of CSU.

What is the function of the Board of Regents?

The BOR serves as the policy-making authority of the university. It approves budgets, sets academic policies, authorizes major programs and projects, oversees university administration, and ensures that CSU remains aligned with national goals for quality, accessible, and transformative public higher education. Every major decision in CSU, from curriculum updates to infrastructure plans, must secure the approval of the Board.

Who are the current members of the Board of Regents?

The CSU Board of Regents is composed of national government leaders, regional representatives, faculty and student representatives, and the University President. The current members include:

Hon. Shirley C. Agrupis – Chairperson, Commission on Higher Education (Chairperson, BOR)
Hon. Arthur G. Ibañez – University President (Vice Chairperson)
Hon. Loren B. Legarda – Chairperson, Senate Committee on Higher, Technical and Vocational Education (represented by Hon. Urdujah G. Alvarado)
Hon. Jude A. Acidre – Chairperson, House of Committee on Higher and Technical Education (represented by Hon. Joseph “Jojo” L. Lara)

Hon. Carmelo O. Villacete – Alumni Regent
Hon. Ricardo B. Casauay – Faculty Regent
Hon. Kyle Aron T. Tan – Student Regent

On October 15, 2025, the College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy (CBEA) successfully held a Mental Health Symposium at the Gatchalian Building, 2nd Floor, CSU-Aparri, with the aim of fostering awareness, understanding, and compassion toward mental health among students.

The activity served as a safe space for reflection and learning, highlighting the importance of emotional resilience, self-care, and seeking support when needed. Students were reminded that mental health is not merely the absence of illness, but a continuous journey of growth, balance, and self-awareness.

We were deeply honored to have Ms. Kathlyn Abadilla Mata as our resource speaker, whose enlightening talk shed light on the realities of mental health challenges and the value of prioritizing one’s emotional well-being. Her meaningful insights inspired everyone to cultivate empathy, strengthen connections, and build a more caring academic environment.

The symposium was attended by classroom officers, CBEA Student Council officers, and committee members, all of whom actively participated and engaged in the discussions.

Through this initiative, the college reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the holistic development of every student — mind, body, and spirit. 💫

Together, let’s continue to break the stigma, spread kindness, and remind one another that it’s okay not to be okay. 🌼

The Teachers’ Day Celebration was a heartfelt success, filled with gratitude, laughter, and appreciation as the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA) family came together to honor its beloved teachers. The event became a meaningful moment to reminisce about shared memories and recognize the mentors who continue to guide, inspire, and empower students with their unwavering dedication. Truly, our CBEA teachers are more than mentors—they are the heart and soul of every learner’s journey.
