Did you know that the history of the ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ฆ๐จ-๐ก๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น began with the establishment of the ๐๐ฎ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ด๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น (๐๐จ๐๐ฆ) through Republic Act No. 2692 on ๐๐๐ป๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ด, ๐ญ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฌ?
LUAS initially offered secondary education programs in Vocational Agriculture and Agricultural Homemaking, with classes officially starting in June 1963 and its first graduates completing their studies in April 1967.
As the institution evolved, the stand-alone high school of LUAS became an integral part of the institution's transformation and growth. When LUAS was converted into the ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ด๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ (๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐) in 1968, the secondary unit continued to operate as DMMMCA Secondary.
During the conversion of DMMMCA into the ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ (๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ฆ๐) in 1974, the secondary unit was integrated as a Laboratory School, strengthening its role in supporting teacher education and serving as a venue for instructional innovation and practice teaching.
The journey continued with the establishment of the ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ (๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ฆ๐จ) in 1981. Throughout these institutional transformations, the Laboratory High School remained a vital component of the University, adapting to educational reforms while maintaining its commitment to quality secondary education.
Today, under the College of Education, the DMMMSU-NLUC Laboratory High School serves as both a center of academic excellence and a training ground for future educators. From its agricultural beginnings, the department continues to uphold its legacy of providing accessible, relevant, and transformative education.
From LUAS to DMMMCA, from DMMMSC to DMMMSUโthe Laboratory High School has grown alongside the institution, shaping generations of learners for more than six decades.
