𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟎𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - Nine student leaders from STI West Negros University officially sealed their place among the region’s rising change-makers as they graduated from the prestigious iLACE Regional 2026 Fellows of Impact Leadership during a virtual culmination ceremony. The capstone event marked the completion of an intensive program designed to push student governance beyond conventional boundaries into transformative, community-centered action.

The virtual culmination opened with an inspirational address by Dr. Almut Besold, Country Director of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation – Philippines, who urged the fellows to harness civic courage, ethical governance, and innovative thinking when tackling complex societal challenges. Demonstrating academic rigor and policy mastery, the cohort then conquered a grueling 200-item comprehensive evaluation quiz, proving that sustainable leadership rests on a bedrock of sharp critical thinking and deep domain knowledge. Following the assessment, the fellows gathered for a reflection session to share personal growth stories, key governance insights, and the collective vision that sustained them throughout their fellowship journey.

The milestone reached its peak during the formal graduation ceremony as each of the nine STIer leaders took the virtual stage to be individually presented and officially conferred as certified iLACE Impact Leadership Fellows. For STIWNU, their achievement reflects an ongoing commitment to developing change-adept critical thinkers and persons of character who lead with purpose. Equipped with advanced leadership frameworks and actionable strategies, these nine graduates now step back into their academic and civic spaces ready to drive meaningful, long-term impact across their campus and local communities.

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟎𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - The STI West Negros University - University Student Council (USC) 2026–2027 officially sealed its alliance with the Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines (YACAP) as student leaders successfully participated in their 1st Mass Onboarding Session.

As part of our commitment to SDG 13: Climate Action, this partnership reinforces our stand that addressing the climate crisis requires urgent, systemic-wide change. From understanding the root causes of severe flooding to demanding human accountability for man-made environmental devastation, the youth must lead the ongoing struggle for climate justice.

Through this alliance, the STIWNU student body joins a nationwide movement of young leaders advocating for immediate global climate action, ensuring that the voices of those most impacted by environmental disasters are heard and amplified.

Together, let us demand accountability, foster awareness, and spark meaningful change for our common home. Lagi’t-lagi, para sa kalikasan, para sa bayan, para sa kabataan!

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗠𝗔𝗦, 𝗦𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗦: 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 ✨

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟎𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - The STI West Negros University - University Student Council (USC) together with the Council of Student Organizations (CSO) Presidents gathered at the Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, SM City Bacolod for a comprehensive seminar on Youth Empowerment for Su***de Prevention and Mental Health Awareness.

The interactive assembly focused heavily on actionable intervention strategies, most notably the Look, Listen, and Link (LLL) framework. Student and organization leaders were trained to look for subtle indicators of emotional distress, listen with active empathy and non-judgmental understanding, and seamlessly link individuals in need to professional counseling resources, campus support systems, and national crisis hotlines.

Throughout the discussions, participants addressed the multi-faceted nature of mental health struggles, identifying key warning signs such as severe anxiety, sudden behavioral shifts, social withdrawal, and substance abuse. A major highlight of the seminar was debunking persistent societal myths surrounding su***de. Facilitators emphasized that asking someone directly about suicidal thoughts does not trigger the act, but rather opens a vital lifeline for support. The session also pinpointed major barriers that prevent individuals from seeking help—specifically highlighting how judging, moralizing, comparing struggles, and unreliability can isolate those who are suffering.

Translating theory into tangible action, the USC and CSO leaders presented their own localized campaign initiatives. These participant-led strategies aim to normalize conversations around mental health, strengthen peer support structures, and ensure accessible intervention across all student organizations and the broader university community.

By actively addressing these critical issues, STIWNU’s student leaders and the Guidance Services Center continue to build a safer, more empathetic environment where youth leaders serve as proactive champions for mental well-being—proving that caring for others begins with fostering open dialogue and unconditional support.

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟎𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - The USC Governors, CSO Presidents, and City Designs came together for a small group discussion to talk all things logistics and shirt production.

We’re working on creating a centralized system for campus merchandise and organization shirts—making ordering smoother, keeping designs top-tier, and ensuring everything runs efficiently for all student organizations.

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟒-𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - STI West Negros University proudly participated in the 2026 United Federation of Fil-Am Educators (UNIFFIED) International Educators Summit, held at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. Representing the university were Dr. Jake Lauren S. Mercado, Director of Student Affairs and Services (SAS), and Donna Marie L. Alimpolo, University Student Council (USC) President.

Throughout the national gathering, they engaged with distinguished professors, researchers, and educational leaders from across the Philippines and the United States. The summit featured insightful plenary sessions, innovative research presentations, and actionable discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as applied to modern education.

A major highlight of the summit was the recognition of Donna Marie L. Alimpolo, who was formally named as one of the Outstanding Youth UNIFFIED Ambassadors, honoring her dedicated leadership and commitment to youth advocacy and education.

Beyond strategies and pedagogy, the STIWNU delegation returned with a renewed and powerful perspective: Education is not merely about asking what to teach, but asking what real change we can create through teaching.

As STIWNU continues to cultivate student leaders and empower faculty, initiatives like these reinforce our commitment to visionary leadership, community transformation, and academic excellence.

Sa bawat pahina ng kasaysayan ay nakaukit ang tapang, sakripisyo, at pagmamahal sa bayan ng mga Pilipinong bayani na nagbigay-daan sa ating kalayaan at pag-unlad.

Ngayong Araw ng mga Bayani, hinihikayat ng STI West Negros University ang bawat Pilipino, lalo na ang ating mga mag-aaral, na alalahanin at pahalagahan ang kanilang mga dakilang ambag. Nawa'y magsilbi silang inspirasyon upang maging mga responsableng mamamayan, mapanuring mag-aaral, at mga lider na may malasakit sa kapwa at bayan.

On the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, we don't just say a word; we declare a collective commitment to protecting our loved ones. The evidence is irrefutable: we are paying the devastating price of inaction. The weight of drug abuse bears down on mental health, relationships, and the very fabric of our communities, fueling suffering and poverty.

But we are not powerless.

The STI West Negros University - University Student Council urge you to be the voice of change. Invest in knowledge. Cultivate support systems. Champion prevention. 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - Demonstrating a firm commitment to principled governance, the University Student Council (USC) Officers of STI West Negros University actively participated in the high-impact leadership forum titled "Voices that Lead: Mastering Youth Forum and Parliamentary Procedure for the Next Generation of Changemakers."

The dynamic session was held at Central Hall 2, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, as part of the Nexus Art and Tech Convention. Conducted by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines - Bacolod Council, the learning forum equipped student leaders with the essential tools of parliamentary law, proper quorum, and formal assembly protocol.

Through real-time simulations, the STIWNU - USC officers immersed themselves in the legislative process, practicing how to craft, debate, and pass impactful resolutions in a democratic, structured, and transparent manner.

By mastering these parliamentary procedures, the council strengthens its foundation to lead with integrity, ensuring that every student advocacy is championed through fair, organized, and decisive action.
