Paghaboé it Piña proudly took the stage at the 44th National Folk Dance Workshop and Panuhid held at Ateneo de Iloilo, Iloilo City.

This meaningful presentation is the result of a collaborative research project of the Provincial Government of Aklan, under the leadership of Gov. Jose Enrique Miraflores, through the efforts of Aklan Provincial Tourism headed by Mrs. Roselle Q. Ruiz, in partnership with Aklan State University in New Washington.

Special recognition is likewise extended to the dedicated Dance Researchers: Dr. Myren Yabut-Ginoy, Dr. Luchelyn A. Beltran, Mr. Jun Greg R. Mabolo, and Mr. James S. Fuentes Jr., for their work in preserving and promoting Aklan’s rich cultural heritage.

With over 1,000 participants composed of educators, students, choreographers, and dance enthusiasts from across the Philippines, this gathering became a celebration of culture, tradition, and the enduring beauty of Philippine folk dance.

OVPAF Holds Meeting on 2025 Performance Review and 2026 Targets

Unit and office heads under the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance (OVPAF) convened on May 21, 2026, at the Lanai Room of Aklan State University – Banga Campus for a meeting centered on administrative updates, performance assessment, and strategic target alignment for the coming fiscal year.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, Vice President for Administration and Finance, who presented key updates and directives concerning the offices under OVPAF. A significant part of the discussion focused on the presentation of accomplishments and performance outcomes based on the 2025 Department Performance Commitment and Review (DPCR), alongside the cascading of DPCR targets for Fiscal Year 2026 to ensure alignment with institutional goals and operational priorities.

The activity served as a venue to strengthen collaboration among OVPAF units and reaffirm their commitment to effective service delivery and alignment with the university’s goals and priorities.

On May 19, 2026, the Bachelor of Science in Food Technology program of Aklan State University underwent an inspection and monitoring visit conducted by the Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Food Technology. The PRB team was headed by its Chairperson, Hon. Anthony C. Sales, PhD, CESO III, together with Hon. Remedios V. Baclig, and accompanied by Mr. Edmar U. Robles, PRO II of PRC Regional Office VI.

The visit aimed to assess and ensure Aklan State University’s compliance with the standards, policies, and facility requirements necessary for offering the BS Food Technology program. It also highlighted the University’s commitment to providing quality education and adequately preparing its graduates for the practice of the Food Technology profession.

The activity served as a collaborative and meaningful learning experience for the University, providing valuable insights and recommendations for the continuous improvement of the program. Aklan State University also expresses its sincere gratitude for the support, guidance, and encouragement extended by the PRB of Food Technology and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐏. 𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐲 of ASU-Makato, who secured Top 7 in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), paid a courtesy visit to Governor Joen Miraflores earlier today, May 20, 2026, in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement.

She was accompanied by ASU President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Eleanor F. Rosales, and ASU-Makato Campus Director Dr. Amelia T. Navejas, who joined in recognizing and celebrating this remarkable academic milestone.

Mardina’s achievement reflects her dedication, perseverance, and excellence, and highlights Aklan State University’s commitment to producing highly competent and inspiring future educators.

The activity gathered university officials and key personnel in a collaborative discussion aimed at aligning institutional learning and development priorities with ASU’s strategic goals. Through competency mapping workshops, policy integration, and collaborative planning, participants contributed valuable insights toward crafting a responsive and future-ready L&D framework for the University.

Aklan State University took part in the Executive Briefing for SUC Top Management on Internal Control and Internal Audit for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) held on May 19, 2026 at the Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila.

Representing ASU in the learning session were University President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Eleanor F. Rosales.

The activity provided key insights on strengthening internal control systems, enhancing internal audit functions, and deepening institutional understanding of accountability and operational effectiveness in higher education institutions.

Through participation in initiatives such as this, ASU continues to build leadership capacity and strengthen institutional systems in support of quality service and academic excellence for the university community.
