CELEBRATING INDIGENOUS CULTURE, HERITAGE, AND IDENTITY: UM BANSALAN COLLEGE | NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES MONTH 2026
In celebration of National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month this October, and in recognition of the 29th Anniversary of the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997, UM Bansalan College proudly honors the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and enduring identity of Indigenous Peoples.
As part of the College’s Intramurals 2026, the IP Youth Organization of UM Bansalan College, composed of members from the B’laan and Bagobo-Tagabawa tribes, proudly showcased their traditional dance as a meaningful expression of their cultural identity, ancestral heritage, and community pride.
Through the rhythm of their movements, the beauty of their traditional attire, and the spirit of their performance, these young cultural bearers remind us that Indigenous culture is not merely a legacy of the past—it is a living heritage that deserves recognition, respect, and preservation for generations to come.
