𝗗𝗔𝗕𝗘 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀: 𝗕𝗦𝗔𝗕𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗪𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗔𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘

Arthur Jay Javier, Alwyn Obingayan, and Francis Jared Rubillos of AniKultura win as Champions at the Regional Young Farmers Challenge - Intercollegiate Component hosted by the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 8. They represented the Visayas State University with their project, "𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗗𝗿𝘆: 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣-𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘, 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙧-𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙙- 𝙃𝙮𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙙 𝙁𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙗𝙚𝙙 𝘿𝙧𝙮𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙨".

AniKultura, who won ₱250,000 Financial Equity Grant, is composed of third-year level BSABE students. They will later represent Region 8 at the National Young Farmers Challenge for Intercollegiate Component early next year.

𝐎𝐍𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐔𝐏𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃

The VSU Department of Civil Engineering proudly sends off 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗥. 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼, who begins her 𝘗𝘩𝘋 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 (𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨) at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand as a Chulalongkorn University Scholar, and 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗟. 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗴, who embarks on her 𝘔𝘚𝘤 𝘪𝘯 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand as a DOST Foreign Graduate Scholar. The Department likewise acknowledges the invaluable support of Visayas State University through its financial grant, which enabled both faculty members to undertake study leave throughout the duration of their graduate studies.

Chulalongkorn University is Thailand's leading institution for engineering, while AIT is internationally recognized for excellence in engineering, technology, and sustainable development. Both universities are recognized with a 5-Star rating by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

We wish them every success as they pursue higher studies and bring home knowledge and expertise that will further strengthen engineering education, research, and service of the university.

The Visayas State University Department of Civil Engineering warmly welcomes back 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗟. 𝗚𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮 following his participation in the 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 (𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗚-𝗖) postgraduate specialization program at the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗮, 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱.

As one of only 16 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 12 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 and the 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘢, Engr. Gaviola's achievement reflects his commitment to advancing expertise in geological and climate-related risk and disaster resilience. His international academic milestone also highlights the Department's dedication to fostering globally engaged engineering professionals who contribute to addressing today's environmental and climate challenges.

We are proud to welcome him home and wish him continued success as he embarks on the next phase of his graduate studies.
