As we head for the upcoming University Supreme Student Council (USSC) and Faculty Supreme Student Council (FSSC) elections, the following are the dedicated student leader officers tasked with ensuring a fair, honest, and transparent electoral process.

Our new SEB officers will be responsible for overseeing the filing of candidacies, managing campaign protocols, and upholding the integrity of every single vote cast. With a commitment to impartiality and excellence, they stand as the backbone of our student democracy.

𝐒𝐄𝐁 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐑𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐂𝐘

The University Student Election Board (USEB) officially announces the REOPENING of the FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF CANDIDACY for the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) for all campuses of the Visayas State University through USEB MEMORANDUM NO. 04, along with this memorandum, the USEB gave the respective Campus Student Election Board (CSEB) the discretion to open the their respective Faculty Supreme Student Council.

In line with that, the Student Election Board - Baybay Campus, officially announces the REOPENING of the FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF CANDIDACY for the Faculty Supreme Student Council (FSSC). Based on the consolidated reports and post-filing assessment conducted by the Board, candidacy filings in Baybay Campus remain low, with no candidates filing for the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) and only forty percent (40%) of faculties having candidates for the Faculty Supreme Student Council (FSSC). Furthermore, only one (1) political party has been organized in each faculty where candidacies have been filed.

All qualified students who wish to serve the student body are encouraged to file their Certificates of Candidacy within the prescribed period and coordinate with the Student Election Board – Baybay Campus or their respective Faculty Student Election Boards for guidance regarding the filing procedures and requirements.

𝐅𝐎𝐍 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Earlier this week, on the 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐲, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the Faculty of Nursing (FON) held its elections for both the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) and the Faculty of Nursing Supreme Student Council (FNSSC). The precinct at the College of Veterinary Medicine Building, Rooms B1-B2, served as the central hub for FON student voters throughout the day, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

That day marked a significant and momentous moment in the FON's commitment to democratic participation, where students converged to shape the future of their representation.

𝐅𝐎𝐍 𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐂 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝

The Faculty of Nursing (FON) Student Election Board has completed the partial tally of votes for the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) elections. This represents the FON's contribution to the overall university-wide results.

With that, the FON Student Election Board extends its sincerest gratitude to the whole VISCAN Nurses who participated in this important democratic process. The commitment to civic engagement demonstrated by the student body is significant to ensure fair and representative leadership within the university.

We join the whole Visayas State University community in awaiting the official USSC election outcome.

The Faculty of Nursing student body has elected its new 𝐅𝐎𝐍-𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀.𝐘. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

It is with great pride and honor that the FON-Student Election Board presents the newly elected Supreme Student Council officers for 2025. Congratulations to the elected officers, who will represent the VISCAN Nursing students and to the whole FON family who were involved in this democratic process.

The monetary fine for failing to meet quorum requirements in the FSSC and USSC elections shall be raised from ₱50 to ₱150 and shall be implemented as a measure to improve voter turnout as advised by Supreme Student Council Presidents and after due deliberation by the Student Election Board. In recognition of students who may prefer non-monetary contributions, a group consisting of a maximum of five (5) members may opt to provide one (1) ream of bond paper or one (1) printer ink in lieu of the monetary fine, as an alternative means of supporting election board operations and election-related activities.

The 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗨𝗦𝗦𝗖) and 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗙𝗦𝗦𝗖) elections will be held on 𝐌𝐚𝐲 7, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. With only two days remaining, we are urging all voters to carefully review the Election Requirements to ensure a smooth voting process.

As outlined in Article XIII of the SEB Code, students must present any of the following requirements before casting their votes:

• their 𝗩𝗦𝗨 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀, or
• 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗖𝗢𝗥) and if none,
• 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀.

This is important for verifying a student's eligibility to vote, so be sure to have them ready before heading to the polls. Failure to bring the necessary ID may prevent you from voting, so don't miss out on your opportunity to make your voice heard!

Please be informed that the official campaign period for the Halalan 2025 University Student Elections has officially ended on May 3, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

In line with this, all forms of campaigning are now strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing, reposting, reacting to, or commenting on campaign materials or posts related to any candidate or political party.

All students are strongly urged to refrain from engaging with such content in any form, as this may constitute illegal campaigning and could result in electoral violations.

We ask for your full cooperation in upholding the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
