Marinduque State University proudly stands with the nation in observing Open Government Week 2026 on May 18โ22, a global initiative that champions transparency, accountability, and citizen participation.
As a backgrounder, Open Government Week is celebrated worldwide under the Open Government Partnership (OGP), now marking its 15th year. In the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed all government agencies, state universities, and local governments to host their own Open Government Day during this week, institutionalized through Proclamation No. 916 (2025). The observance highlights the countryโs commitment to openness, inclusivity, and participatory governance under the Bagong Pilipinas agenda and the Philippine Development Plan 2023โ2028.
Under the leadership of University President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta, MarSU champions its dedication to openness in governance, innovation in service, and inclusivity in decision-making. By engaging students, faculty, staff, and the wider Marinduque community, the University strengthens trust and empowers stakeholders to be active partners in shaping a transparent and participatory future.
Together, let us celebrate openness as the foundation of progress and unity.
