“In accounting, every number must add up; in taxation, every obligation must be understood; and in a career, every decision must count.”

With this reminder, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue through Bontoc Campus Administrator, Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed graced the BIR Tax Filing and Career Awareness Activity held today, October 29, at the University Auditorium, MPSU, Bontoc, MP.

In his message, Dr. Cue emphasized that understanding tax obligations is essential not only to avoid costly mistakes but also to become responsible citizens and ethical professionals. He encouraged students, particularly those pursuing accountancy, to look beyond numbers and regulations and embrace the values of competence, sound judgment, and integrity.

“As you explore the career paths available to you, aspire not only to achieve professional success but also to become individuals who uphold ethical standards, earn the trust of others, and use their knowledge to make a positive difference in society,” Dr. Cue urged.

He also underscored the importance of connecting classroom learning with practical knowledge, preparing students for the demands and responsibilities of their future careers.

Said activity also featured resource speakers from BIR, Joshua M. Magkachi, Al M. Apangchan, and Jessica Gem D. Vicente, who shared their knowledge and insights to deepen students’ understanding of tax filing and career opportunities.

Through this activity, the University continues to strengthen its commitment to developing competent, responsible, and principled future professionals who will contribute meaningfully to society. #

Mountain Province State University (MPSU) continues to strengthen its commitment to institutional excellence as President Dr. Edgar G. Cue through his representative, Atty. Denmark P. Butic, graced the last batch for Integrated Management and Quality Assurance Workshop for the Premier Coffee University today, October 28 at the Admin Conference Hall, MPSU Bontoc, MP.

Drawing from the story of four groups of builders whose efforts failed to align due to different standards, Dr. Cue emphasized that genuine institutional excellence requires more than individual accomplishments- it demands a shared vision, harmonized systems, and collective responsibility across all four campuses.

He also underscored that integrated management and quality assurance must go beyond compliance and documentation, serving as essential foundations for better governance, improved services, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The University’s success will not be measured by the achievements of individual campuses alone, but by what the entire MPSU community can accomplish together. Through unified efforts and a sustained commitment to quality, MPSU continues to build not only a stronger institution today but also a lasting legacy of excellence for generations to come. #
