Pentecost Sunday Apostolate || May 28, 2023
"Synodality: Pamati ug pag bunyog ha mga kablas"
As we conclude the Apostolate of our seminarians, and in the spirit of Pentecost celebration, we are reminded again by the theme of synodality, which emphasizes listening and participating within the Church community. In the Gospel, we remember an important moment after Jesus' resurrection when He appeared to His disciples, who were gathered together in a room, filled with fear and uncertainty.
The disciples' fear represents how we tend to withdraw when faced with challenges. But Jesus enters their gathering and brings them peace. His presence shows that we are not alone in our struggles. It highlights the value of coming together as a community, where we can find comfort, support, and encouragement from one another.
The theme "Synodality: Pamati ug pag bunyog ha mga kablas" aligns with the Gospel. Synodality calls us for an inclusive and participatory approach, where everyone in the Church has a voice, regardless of their background or status. It makes us realize the importance of truly hearing the experiences, concerns, and ideas of the whole community, especially those who are marginalized.
Our fellow seminarians, who have tirelessly devoted their time during their apostolate, invites us to embrace synodality. To come together as a community, acknowledging our fears and vulnerabilities, while recognizing the power of Christ's presence among us. By simple communication, valuing everyone's voice, and extending mercy and forgiveness, we can create a more inclusive, empathetic, and vibrant Church.
“Coniuncti in amore et servitio esse possumus.” Together, we can be united in love and service.
