A warm welcome. A new beginning. One EVSU-Burauen community.
Eastern Visayas State UniversityโBurauen Campus officially welcomed its freshmen and transferee students through the University Studentsโ Welcome Activity and Gatherings (USWAG) โ EVSUNISTA 2026, held on August 17, 2026, at the Human Resource Development Center (HRDC).
The activity opened with the welcome remarks of the Campus Director, ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป ๐ข๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ฃ. ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐น๐ฑ๐ฎ, who warmly welcomed the new members of the EVSU-Burauen family and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities, challenges, and experiences that come with their new academic journey.
The welcoming activity continued with inspirational messages from the different Department Heads, who shared words of encouragement, guidance, and motivation as the students begin another important chapter of their lives. Their messages emphasized the importance of perseverance, responsible student life, academic excellence, and active participation in the university community.
Adding to the significance of the gathering was the introduction of the key officials of Eastern Visayas State Universityโfrom the University President and Vice Presidents, down to the campus officials, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel of EVSU-Burauen Campus. This provided the students with a better understanding of the people who lead, support, and work together in serving the EVSUNISTA community.
The students were also oriented on the duties and responsibilities of the Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) and the various services and support available to them throughout their stay in the University. An important part of the discussion was the Board Resolution approving the proposed amendments to Articles 4, 37, and 70 of the 2017 Revised EVSU Studentsโ Handbook, particularly on admission, entrance and enrollment policies, as well as student uniform, dress code, and haircut policies.
Beyond the policies and procedures, the activity reminded our students that becoming an EVSUNISTA also means becoming part of a community built on responsibility, respect, excellence, service, and unity.
The USWAG 2026 gathering concluded with a campus tour led by the SSG Officers, giving the freshmen and transferees an opportunity to become familiar with the different offices, departments, facilities, and important areas of EVSU-Burauen. What may have been unfamiliar places at the start of the day gradually became spaces where they will learn, grow, build friendships, and create memories.
From the first welcome to the first walk around the campus, USWAG: EVSUNISTA 2026 was more than an orientationโit was a meaningful first step toward becoming part of the EVSU-Burauen family.
Welcome to EVSU-Burauen, our dear freshmen and transferees!
One campus. One community. One EVSU-Burauen.โ๏ธ
