Scheduled based on the survey of BSEE students on the final exam dates, due to the approved CEIT college activity on December 11–12, and formulated in consultation with the DEE faculty.

Scheduled from November 24 to 26, 2025, at the CSU Main Campus, this event represents a pivotal opportunity for our future engineers to connect directly with a global leader in the semiconductor industry.

Aligning Curriculum with Innovation For the students of the DEE, the participation in this caravan is an immersion into the practical applications of their coursework. Analog Devices is renowned worldwide for its innovations in technologies such as high-performance analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing (DSP) integrated circuits that form the backbone of the modern Electrical Engineering curriculum.

We are thrilled to announce that the Department of Electrical Engineering has been honored with the Special Award for Top Performing Schools in the Board Licensure Examination, recognizing our outstanding 100% passing rate at the April 2024 REELE.

This distinction was received during the CSU Pasidungog 2025 Awards Night held November 17, 2025, at the LMX Convention Center in Butuan City.

The Project Tun-EE team met with the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter, led by its President Engr. Arnel B. Alipao, to review the pilot implementation plan and policy updates for ongoing initiatives on electrical safety and energy efficiency in public schools. The meeting aimed to refine the technical and operational framework of the project prior to pilot testing.

Engr. Erickson A. Tacda, MSEE, Project Leader of Project Tun-EE and Center Chief of the CSUCC Energy and Power Research Innovation Center (CEPRIC), presented the comprehensive narrative report and the policy implementation framework, summarizing key findings from data collection and field assessments conducted across the ten districts of Agusan del Norte. The presentation of the standardized matrices for evaluating electrical safety compliance and energy efficiency performance in schools was led by Engr. Mirafe Nalaza, Project Staff of Project Tun-EE.

During the session, Engr. Alipao offered expert feedback and recommendations on the pilot plan, emphasizing the importance of harmonizing maintenance reporting procedures and aligning implementation strategies with established electrical standards. Project members and faculty participants also shared their insights and suggestions, helping to refine the framework and strengthen the project’s technical soundness.

The review meeting was attended by the Electrical Engineering faculty of CEIT and Project Tun-EE members and staff, including Engr. Ianlester L. Romero (Project Proponent); Engr. Melgie Rose C. Acero, Engr. Loween Gweedee Boy Moton, Engr. Kemberly R. Tanare, Engr. Ian C. Guday, Engr. Darynell Maguikay, Engr. Marloun M. Auguis, Engr. Anthony M. Minoza, and Engr. Victor B. Arlan. Supporting the team were Engr. Mirafe Nalaza, Engr. Deoren M. Damo, Ms. Rizza Shannyn M. Paredes, and Mr. Glenn Michael B. Beriso, who assisted in documentation and coordination.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to incorporate IIEE’s recommendations into the upcoming pilot implementation phase. The collaboration underscores the shared commitment of CEPRIC, CSUCC, and the IIEE Butuan–Agusan del Norte Chapter to promote electrical safety, energy efficiency, and sustainable operations in public schools through research-driven policy and practical field application.

𝗖𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖 𝗘𝗘 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇—𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗺𝘀

Caraga State University – Cabadbaran Campus (CSUCC) marked a spirited return to the Philippine Statistics Quiz stage, fielding an all-freshman BSEE delegation at the 29th PSQ Agusan del Norte Provincial Elimination held at Butuan Southville Hotel and Convention Center.

Representing CSUCC were first-year Electrical Engineering students Mark Bautista, Christian Dapar, and Jobern Dabalos. The team was mentored by Coach Engr. Erickson Tacda, Chairperson of the Department of Electrical Engineering, with Asst. Coach/Facilitator Engr. Victor Arlan and DEE faculty Engr. Melgie Rose Acero providing on-ground support.

Despite a slow start—lagging behind in Round 1—the CSUCC quizzers mounted a strong comeback. Jobern Dabalos nearly posted a perfect score in Round 3, and ultimately tied for 4th place with teammate Christian Dapar, showcasing depth and resilience in the latter rounds.

The day’s highlight came from Mark Bautista, who tied with a contestant from St. Michael College of Caraga and then prevailed in the tiebreak, securing 2nd Place overall. With this podium finish, Mark earns a berth to the Regional Elimination of the 29th PSQ on November 6, 2025, in Butuan City.

This edition proudly marks CSUCC’s return to the PSQ after its last participation prior to the pandemic—an encouraging signal of the department’s sustained commitment to quantitative excellence, competition readiness, and student development.

The Project Tun-EE team met with key officials of the Department of Education – Schools Division of Agusan del Norte at the Division Office to discuss preparations for the pilot implementation of the newly developed standardized matrices on electrical safety and energy efficiency in public schools.

The meeting, led by Engr. Erickson A. Tacda, MSEE, Project Leader of Project Tun-EE and Center Chief of the Energy and Power Research Innovation Center (CEPRIC), together with Engr. Melgie Rose C. Acero, MSc, Project Member, focused on aligning implementation strategies and timelines for the pilot phase. The initiative aims to validate the drafted matrices in selected schools before full-scale adoption across the division.

In addition to the pilot rollout, the team presented updates on the recently concluded training and seminar series on Electrical Safety and Occupational Health, as well as the findings from the comprehensive narrative report based on field data collected from the ten districts of Agusan del Norte. The data-driven analysis provided the foundation for the proposed policy framework and assessment tools.

Dr. Jeanie L. Mativo, PhD, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, together with Atty. Joellyn Macalos, Legal Officer III; Ms. Rimonette C. Talan, Education Program Supervisor; and Mr. John Rey M. Ebasco, Education Program Specialist III expressed strong support for the pilot implementation. The officials commended the project’s proactive approach to improving school infrastructure management and ensuring compliance with electrical safety and energy conservation standards.

The upcoming pilot implementation marks a major milestone for Project Tun-EE, signifying its transition from research and data gathering to practical application. Results from the pilot will be used to refine the standardized matrices and guide future policy formulation, ensuring that every school in the province moves toward safer, more energy-efficient, and sustainable operations.

𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗙𝗧𝗟) 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟭𝟯–𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

In light of the recent earthquake and continuing aftershocks, Caraga State University will implement Online Flexible Teaching and Learning (FTL) for both campuses from October 13–19, 2025 as a precaution to protect our community.

For Students

1. No on-campus activities are required during this period.

2. If you must enter the campus for a valid reason, set an appointment with your instructor/professor first and secure clearance from the Campus Safety and Security Office.

Let us stay vigilant, monitor official university announcements, and immediately report any visible signs of damage within university premises to the General Services Office.
