The Project Tun-EE team met with the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) ButuanโAgusan del Norte Chapter, led by its President Engr. Arnel B. Alipao, to review the pilot implementation plan and policy updates for ongoing initiatives on electrical safety and energy efficiency in public schools. The meeting aimed to refine the technical and operational framework of the project prior to pilot testing.
Engr. Erickson A. Tacda, MSEE, Project Leader of Project Tun-EE and Center Chief of the CSUCC Energy and Power Research Innovation Center (CEPRIC), presented the comprehensive narrative report and the policy implementation framework, summarizing key findings from data collection and field assessments conducted across the ten districts of Agusan del Norte. The presentation of the standardized matrices for evaluating electrical safety compliance and energy efficiency performance in schools was led by Engr. Mirafe Nalaza, Project Staff of Project Tun-EE.
During the session, Engr. Alipao offered expert feedback and recommendations on the pilot plan, emphasizing the importance of harmonizing maintenance reporting procedures and aligning implementation strategies with established electrical standards. Project members and faculty participants also shared their insights and suggestions, helping to refine the framework and strengthen the projectโs technical soundness.
The review meeting was attended by the Electrical Engineering faculty of CEIT and Project Tun-EE members and staff, including Engr. Ianlester L. Romero (Project Proponent); Engr. Melgie Rose C. Acero, Engr. Loween Gweedee Boy Moton, Engr. Kemberly R. Tanare, Engr. Ian C. Guday, Engr. Darynell Maguikay, Engr. Marloun M. Auguis, Engr. Anthony M. Minoza, and Engr. Victor B. Arlan. Supporting the team were Engr. Mirafe Nalaza, Engr. Deoren M. Damo, Ms. Rizza Shannyn M. Paredes, and Mr. Glenn Michael B. Beriso, who assisted in documentation and coordination.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to incorporate IIEEโs recommendations into the upcoming pilot implementation phase. The collaboration underscores the shared commitment of CEPRIC, CSUCC, and the IIEE ButuanโAgusan del Norte Chapter to promote electrical safety, energy efficiency, and sustainable operations in public schools through research-driven policy and practical field application.
