Hello Everyone!
As you know Summer has officially started, which means...INIT!
Yes init! and because of that many will experience what we call "heat stroke" pero paano naton mabal.an if na heat stroke na?
FYI: There are 3 Stages of Heat Stroke
1. Heat Cramps- weakness, muscle cramps usually in arms and legs
2. Heat exhaustion- worsening weakness, fatigue,a bit thirsty, dizziness, heavy sweating, high body temperature
3. Heat Stroke- slurred speech, severe disorientation, confused of person-time-place, seizure, very dry skin (dehydrated), very high body temperature, heart rate up to 150bpm,
What to do then to prevent all of this from happening?
1. Drink lots of water (NOT SOFTDRINKS) but do not drink cold water but COOL water instead
2. Avoid tight clothings. Tight skirts, tight pants, tight uniforms
3. Bring "kuyab" or portable fans with you always
4. Avoid overcrowded rooms with poor ventilation
What to do when your classmate is experiencing all these symptoms?
1. INDI PAG TUMPUKE. Clear the area! Provide much ventilation as possible.
2. Put that person close to the fan
3. If conscious, let that person drink water to figjt dehydration
4. If unconscious, place person on the floor flat and place pillow or bag on the feet
5. Place a cool towel on the forehead to decrease body temperature
Knowledge is power but applied knowledge is even more powerful!
