𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘!

As of today, 8:00 AM, April 21, 2026, air quality monitoring at the Tagoloan and Iligan Stations (via EMB-Region 10) indicates a significant surge in PM 2.5 pollutants. The haze blanketing the CDO-Iligan corridor has reached "Unhealthy" levels, posing a direct risk to student respiratory health

To ensure the safety of the USTP community, please follow
these protocols:

- 𝐔𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐤: Surgical and cloth masks are ineffective against microscopic haze particles. Encouraging students to use N95 or KN95 respirators for a proper seal while commuting via jeepney/motorela or walking along C.M. Recto.
- 𝐔𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 "𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬": Stay indoors. The University Library and e-Labs are the safest environments on campus as they provide filtered, recirculated air. Keep all classroom doors and windows tightly closed.
- 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫: Upon returning home, rinse and recover by washing your face and hair to remove soot and using a saline nasal spray to clear pollutants from your respiratory passages.

𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢 𝟴.𝟬: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 returns with a strengthened commitment to awareness, vigilance, and responsible citizenship. This symposium sheds light on terrorism-related issues in Mindanao, including insurgency, drug abuse, and criminality, while addressing recruitment strategies targeting schools and online spaces.

Organized by the 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗙𝗔𝗘𝗦𝗢) in partnership with the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 (𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔), this initiative encourages students to be informed, proactive, and responsible members of society.

𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧

Sa ika-84 na paggunita ng Araw ng Kagitingan, muli nating pinagninilayan ang naglalagablab na tapang at diwa ng kabayanihan ng mga Pilipinong tumindig para sa kalayaan. Ang tema ngayong 2026, “Giting ng Bayani, Pamana sa Salinlahi,” ay hindi lamang alaala ng nakaraan, kundi isang hamon sa kasalukuyan—na ipagpatuloy ang kanilang nasimulan.

Sa bawat pag-awit ng Lupang Hinirang, tumitimo sa ating puso ang mga salitang, “𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐚 𝐢𝐲𝐨.” Para sa ating mga bayani noong 1942 sa Bataan at Corregidor, ito ay hindi lamang liriko—ito ay isang banal na panata na kanilang isinabuhay hanggang sa kanilang huling hininga. Sa kanilang sakripisyo, umusbong ang kalayaang ating tinatamasa ngayon.

Mga Trailblazers, bilang mga iskolar at mag-aaral ng agham at teknolohiya, tayo ang bagong mukha ng kagitingan. Isabuhay natin ang diwa ng bayani sa ating pang-araw-araw na pagsisikap—𝒔𝒂 𝒔𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒈 𝒔𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒈-𝒂𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍, 𝒔𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒉𝒂 𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒚𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒅. Sa gitna ng mga hamon ng makabagong panahon, nawa’y magsilbing tanglaw ang araw na ito upang lalo tayong magsikap at maglingkod para sa bayan.

Hindi man tayo tinatawag na humawak ng sandata sa larangan ng digmaan, tinatawagan naman tayong gamitin ang ating talino, kakayahan, at malasakit upang itaguyod ang Pilipinas. Ang pamana ng kagitingan ay nasa ating mga kamay—at nasa ating mga kilos kung paano ito maipagpapatuloy.

These were not just themes, but lived values, during the recently concluded Election Orientation and Reorientation of Audit Protocols spearheaded by the USTP CDO Electoral Commission in partnership with the Student Commission on Audit (SCOA).

Gathering accredited student organizations in one meaningful space, the activity served as both a guide and a reminder: leadership is not only about fulfilling roles, but about upholding trust.

From understanding election procedures to ensuring compliance with guidelines, student leaders were equipped with the knowledge needed to carry out fair, credible, and transparent electoral processes. After all, every vote cast reflects a voice, and every process behind it must be protected with integrity.

At the same time, the reorientation of audit protocols reinforced the importance of financial responsibility. With updated guidelines on documentation, auditing procedures, and fund management, organizations were reminded that accountability goes beyond numbers; it is about stewardship and trustworthiness.

But what made the session even more impactful was the message of reflection and purpose delivered by Mr. John David O. Moncada, Head of the Student Welfare and Development Unit of the Office of Student Affairs.

Grounded in the spirit of the Lenten season, his words resonated deeply with the participants, connecting leadership with personal growth and values formation.

“Leadership is not just about what we do, but who we become.”

With this, he challenged student leaders to embrace integrity in unseen moments, to accept the sacrifices that come with genuine service, and to remain open to accountability as a path toward growth.

More than a workshop, the activity became a space for realignment, a moment for student leaders to pause, reflect, and recommit to the kind of leadership that builds not only efficient systems but also strong character.

📌 Because at the end of the day, leadership is not just about managing processes. It’s about protecting trust, serving others, and becoming better along the way.
