Xavier University formally conducted a contract signing with Greenergy Development Corporation on 14 May 2026 for the retrofitting of the XU Junior High School Covered Court located at the XU Basic Education Pueblo Campus. The agreement was signed by Fr Mars P Tan, SJ on behalf of Xavier University, and Mr Andrew P Donggay representing Greenergy Development Corporation. The signing was witnessed by Mr Rolando J Linaac of the US Mindanao Renewable Energy Corporation (USMREC) and Engr George M Abasolo of Xavier University.

Xavier University took a significant step toward the internationalization of engineering education through its participation in a series of Green Gecko Project engagements in Italy and Spain from April to May 2026, represented by Engr Gerry S Doroja (Team Leader) and Dr Hercules R Cascon (Assistant Team Leader). The Green Gecko Project is funded by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Higher Education (CBHE) as it serves to strengthen global academic partnerships and advance innovative solutions for carbon neutrality.

IN PHOTOS | XCeLLERATE: Discover Your Advantage Pre-College Program

Students from across cities gathered for the XCeLLERATE: Discover Your Advantage Pre-College Program on 18 May 2026 at AVR 1, featuring welcome remarks from Xavier University President Fr Mars P Tan, SJ, Vice President for Higher Education Dr Juliet Q Dalagan, and the X-CeLL team led by Director Dr Judy P Sendaydiego.

During the morning session, GE-IDS faculty member Ms Gabriella Gil Cristi Z Alaba served as host and shared her personal experiences as an XU student, while Campus Ministries Office Director Dr Danikka Rose M Fabela facilitated the campus orientation and discussed the university’s mission and spiritual formation; the program was followed by a campus tour in the afternoon.

The afternoon session also included talks by Office of Student Affairs Director Ivanell R Subrabas and Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts Director Dr Hobart P Savior on student leadership, culture, and the arts as part of the university’s pre-college engagement initiative.
