78TH UE YEAREND COMMENCEMENT | Baccalaureate Ecumenical Service 2026

The University of the East Caloocan Campus will hold its Baccalaureate Ecumenical Service for the candidates for the 78th Yearend Commencement Rites for School Year 2025–2026 on June 2, 2026 (Tuesday) at the Multipurpose Hall 3, 5th Floor, Dr. Lucio C. Tan Building, following the schedule below:

• 9:00 AM – CAS and CEng’g
• 2:00 PM – CBA and CFAD

All graduating students are requested to wear their prescribed UE uniform during the Service.

Please be informed that the official program and tickets for the Commencement Rites will be distributed at the respective Dean’s Offices immediately after the Service.

UE CFAD Instructor Jose C. Mariano Named 2026 GSIS National Art Competition Finalist for Representational Category "Hanap Buhay"

Congratulations to Mr. Jose “Joey” C. Mariano for being named one of the national finalists in the 2026 Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) National Art Competition for his watercolor painting entry, Hanap Buhay. His artwork powerfully portrays the extraordinary dedication of Filipino firefighters who risk their lives in service to others, embodying this year’s competition theme, “The Filipino Public Servant.”

Currently teaching under the BFA Visual Communication program at the University of the East College of Fine Arts, Architecture and Design, Mr. Mariano is a multi-talented artist whose practice spans character design, illustration, painting, and visual effects. A proud UE CFAD graduate of Advertising Arts (now Visual Communication), Sir Joey has established himself in both traditional and digital media, contributing to television series, films, and commercials, including the acclaimed live-action adaptation of Voltes V: Legacy. As a 2D compositor and 3D visual effects artist, he combines technical expertise with a distinctive artistic vision that continues to shape imaginative visual worlds.

Beyond his professional work, Joey remains passionate about mentoring the next generation of artists as an instructor at UE CFAD, where he emphasizes innovation, creativity, and strong artistic foundations. Outside the classroom and studio, he is also an avid toy collector and designer, blending nostalgic influences with contemporary ideas to create unique works that bridge the past and present.
