What if better communication could lead to deeper understanding and stronger connections with our children?

The Guidance and Counseling Services Division invites parents and guardians from IBED- Gradeschool to College to an engaging online learning session designed to explore the role of effective communication in supporting children’s emotional, social, and developmental well-being.

Join us for Parenting 105: Talk so They’ll Listen, Listen so They’ll Talk — Communication Skills from Childhood to Adolescence, where we will discover practical ways to communicate with children, listen with understanding, and create meaningful conversations that foster trust and connection.

To help us explore these important aspects of parent-child communication , we are pleased to have Dr. Leslie M. Medina, Marketing Director and College Faculty and Doctor of Communication, who will share her expertise and insights on effective communication across developmental stages.

This September, the Guidance and Counseling Services Division (GCSD) of Holy Cross Colleges joins in promoting awareness, understanding, and support for su***de prevention.

Mental health matters, and so does reaching out when things feel difficult. A simple check-in, a listening ear, or encouraging someone to seek help can make a meaningful difference.

Let’s build a school community where students feel safe to speak, comfortable to ask for help, and supported without judgment.

The Guidance and Counseling Services Division joined the Sta. Ana Mental Health Advocates Seminar on August 7, 2026, promoting mental health awareness, preparedness, and stronger community support.

Building a Mentally Healthy Sta. Ana: Aware, Supportive, Stronger Together

The Guidance and Counseling Services Division actively participated in the Sta. Ana Mental Health Advocates Seminar held on August 7, 2026, carrying the theme “Building a Mentally Healthy Sta. Ana: Aware, Supportive, Stronger Together.”

The seminar provided an opportunity to deepen awareness on mental health, encourage help-seeking, reduce stigma, and strengthen collaboration among community stakeholders.

Among the important topics discussed were mental health and substance use, highlighting the need for prevention, early intervention, proper referral, and compassionate community support. The seminar also discussed bomb threat awareness and preparedness, emphasizing vigilance, calm decision-making, proper reporting, and adherence to established safety protocols.

More than gaining knowledge, the activity reminded us that promoting mental health and community safety is a shared responsibility. Through continued learning, awareness, and collaboration, we can help create a community where people feel supported, informed, and empowered to seek help when needed.

Together, let us continue building a Sta. Ana that is aware, supportive, and stronger together.
