𝗕𝗦𝗖𝗦 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗺 𝗢𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝗝𝗧 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program successfully conducted its Practicum Onboarding and Workplace Preparation Program for midyear On-the-Job Training (OJT) students on May 12, 2026, equipping them with essential knowledge, skills, and professional values needed as they transition into real-world work environments.

The program featured a series of insightful talks from invited speakers who shared their expertise in various fields relevant to the students’ practicum journey.

Dr. Mary Grace L. Gacusan, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, delivered an inspirational talk encouraging students to make themselves teachable, remain open to learning, and continuously grow as they step into the professional field.

Prof. Maribel C. Ibanez discussed Gender Sensitivity Awareness, particularly Gender-Based Sexual Harassment Prevention, emphasizing the importance of respect, inclusivity, and maintaining safe spaces in the workplace.

Ms. Aubrey Menor, a Management Trainee from MODDEL Learning Inc., presented Industry Standards and Practices, where she introduced students to workplace expectations, professionalism, and adapting to organizational culture.

Mr. Michael Gem P. Marquez, Coordinator of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, facilitated a session on Personality Development, Interpersonal Relationships, and Workplace Ethics, highlighting the value of communication skills, confidence, and ethical conduct.

Mr. Ryan Jay C. Cuevas from the Computing Studies Unit led the discussion on AI Tools in Software Development and Documentation, showcasing modern tools that can enhance productivity and efficiency in technical tasks.

Dr. Helen Evelyn V. Valdez, Practicum Coordinator, concluded the program by discussing the BSCS OJT Program, guiding students through the requirements, expectations, and processes necessary for a successful practicum experience.

The onboarding program serves as a vital step in preparing BSCS students for their OJT by bridging academic knowledge with real-world industry application, while the BSCS department extends its sincere gratitude to all guest speakers for their valuable time, insights, and contributions to the success of the program.

A heartfelt tribute to our Computer Science students and their journey. This also highlights the leadership and unity within the Computer Science department through Computing Studies Students Organization. The organization has been a space for support, collaboration, and growth—helping students develop not just academically, but also personally. Through its guidance and initiatives, CSSO continues to inspire students to lead, participate, and build a stronger community where everyone is encouraged to grow and succeed together.

More than just a tribute, this is a celebration of stories, memories, and a journey that continues beyond today.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗟𝗬 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗨𝗟 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗙𝗨𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗧

As I move on, I want to leave a few words for the people who made this journey meaningful for me.

To my adings in Computing Studies, enjoy the journey but take it seriously, hindi madali ang path na pinili ninyo, but it will all be worth it. There will be times na mapapagod kayo, madidiscourage, or even question yourselves, pero that’s part of the process. If everything starts to feel heavy, it’s okay to pause, breathe, and take a step back, hindi kailangan pilitin ang sarili kapag ubos na. Rest when you must, then rise again when you’re ready. Padayon lang, and don’t forget to support one another kayo ang susunod na magdadala ng pangalan ng CS.

To my fellow 4th year batch 2026, we made it this far and that alone says a lot about who we are and what we’ve been through. Hindi naging madali ang journey natin, filled with sleepless nights, pressure, and sacrifices, but we stood our ground. As we approach graduation, let’s remind ourselves that we don’t have to rush everything—we don’t need to immediately dive into work right after. It’s okay to take a break, reflect, and truly understand what path we want to take next. Sometimes, it is better to pause and plan carefully than to rush into something unprepared. Konting push na lang malapit na tayo. Let’s finish strong and be proud of how far we’ve come.

To my CSSO officers, thank you for your commitment, passion, and the memories we built together as one team. You have shown what it means to lead with purpose and serve with heart, and I am proud of each and every one of you. As I step away from this role, I leave the organization with full confidence in your abilities, continue to work together, support one another, and uphold the values that define CSSO. This may be the end of my term, but I know that the legacy of our efforts will continue through all of you. Keep striving, keep leading, and never lose the passion to serve.

As I have always emphasized, it is important to stay focused and avoid rushing, approach your tasks one step at a time with patience and discipline. Even when faced with tight deadlines and increasing pressure, learn to prioritize the tasks you find most challenging and allocate sufficient time and effort to accomplish them effectively. Remember that the quality of your work reflects your dedication, so it is better to work with clarity and purpose rather than haste. You have already come this far through your hard work, perseverance, and countless sacrifices; this is not the time to lose your determination. Challenges are part of the process, especially in your journey as Computer Science students, but they are also opportunities to grow, learn, and prove your capabilities. Continue to believe in yourselves, remain committed to your goals, and push forward with confidence and resilience. In the end, all your efforts will be worth it.

𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦

As a Computer Science student about to graduate, I just would like to share this advice for my fellow students especially sa mga lower years.

At first, pagpasok ko sa field na to ay sobrang nakakaoverwhelm para sa akin dahil sa mga coding activities, debugging, deadlines at mga concepts na hindi kaagad nagmemake sense sakin. I experienced those moments na I feel stuck, frustrated, and would just be like asking to myself if this kind of thing is really meant for me. And I think that’s normal. Growth, learning, and improvement in Computer Science don’t happen overnight, nangyayari yan through patience, consistency, at maraming trial and error. Huwag kayong matakot magkamali. Lahat ng error message, lahat ng program na hindi nagwowork at bawat puyat in coding and debugging, those all are part of your journey.

Start building early. Do not wait until you feel ready because the fact is, we will never be truly ready. Even though it is just a simple website, small app, personal project or kahit isang block of functional code lang ang gawin mo, everything counts naman, and you are improving your skills and knowledge by doing them. What matters is progress, not perfection. Also, do not compare your journey to others. Some people do seem right ahead of you, but the reality is everyone has their own pace. Focus lang kayo sa sarili niyong improvement, kahit pauntiunti every day.

Most importantly, look after yourself. Rest when you need to, seek help in times of difficulties, and surround yourself with those that will support your growth. One day, you'll look back then realized that the things you thought was impossible before, you are now able to do them with so much confidence. And when that day comes, you'll understand that all the pain and effort is worth it. Kaya always keep going. You’re closer than you think.

"𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞" during the 28th Recognition Rites and Hooding Ceremony

Today, technology like AI can help us and make things easier, but it could never replace the people who supported us. What truly shaped our journey here are the people we met along the way.

When we first entered this campus, we each carried different stories—some filled with excitement, others with uncertainty. Personally, I thought I would have to walk this path alone. However, I've met people who made it lighter like my friend group right now. Mga bro congrats, naitawid din. Thank you for the company. Let’s all acknowledge and cherish the friendships we built along the way.
In this celebration, allow me to share a short part of my journey built on struggles and perseverance.

Growing up, life wasn’t always easy. There are times na need mo dumiskarte even at a young age. Malagip ko i-baon dak jay karruba idi ubing nak nga apan aglako ti ice candy ti balbalay tapno adda tandan ko, ta isun to panggatang ko ti makan. This experience made me realize early on that not everything in life is fair.

Sometimes, we encountered challenges shaped by unjust situations and even system anomalies. There are times that efforts didn’t always match the outcomes, processes felt flawed, and circumstances were beyond control.

Here in school, we faced our own struggles: sunod-sunod na activities, assignments, at projects. Parang kulang na nga ang 24 hours at bilang na lang ang tulog.

Despite all of that, the important thing is that we showed up. We kept going. And today, here we are, welcoming our recognition ceremony.
At this point, please allow me to acknowledge and express my gratitude to the people who made this moment possible.

And to our teachers who have watched us develop from our freshmen year, thank you for your guidance, support, and always defending us until the very end. Ammok nga naragsak ken proud kayo nga makakita kadakami nga estudyante yo—aglalo kadagiti pasaway—ket itan ket nakasuot iti toga.

To our parents and families, thank you for your sacrifices, your love, and your unwavering support. Ammok nga naragsak ken proud kayo nga makakita kadagitoy annakyo nga itan ket agturposdan.

To my siblings, who have been my kasangga for my 21 years. Kami-kami lang magkakasama while my father had to work abroad for us. My eldest brother and sister had to stand up early, being our second parents. Thank you so much. And to my father. Being one of six children, I've seen you work so hard to provide for us and send us to school. My Dad is such a responsible and loving father and I'm proud to say that “he’s my dad”.

Above All, To Almighty God, He was with us since the beginning of this journey. He made all things possible and showed us wonders that we thought won't happen. He is in control of everything. Everything happens according to His will.

In moments like this, I am reminded that we never walk this journey alone.

These verses tell that success is never achieved alone. We rise because of the people who chose to stand with us, who supported us, believed in us, even when we doubted ourselves.

As Kara David once said. "Ang mabigat ay gumagaan kapag marami ang pumapasan"

Today, we celebrate not only our achievements, but also the people who helped us to get here.

As we celebrate this recognition rites, we also look forward to what lies ahead. This moment isn’t just about what we have right now, but also about how much more we can achieve in the future.

Once again, welcome everyone to this celebration of hard work, perseverance, and shared success.

With the theme, “Transformative Futures 2026: Interdisciplinary Pathways toward Inclusivity, Sustainable Communities, and Global Collaboration”, the congress featured research across Natural Sciences, Mathematical, Information, and Computing Sciences, Arts, Communication, and Social Sciences, Business, Economics, and Accountancy, and Agriculture.

Last April 27, 2026, at the ISPSC Main Campus - Gymnasium, a remarkable chapter finally reached its closing bracket. 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. Their journey in Computer Science was never just about systems and syntax—𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀, 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. Every error became a lesson, every failure a step closer to success, and every small victory a line of progress in their story.
