In pursuit of fostering sustainable community engagement, the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (BAPOS) and Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) Programs of the College of Arts and Sciences, ISPSC Main Campus, conducted a collaborative meeting with the Local Government Unit of San Emilio, Ilocos Sur on October 28, 2024.

The dialogue aimed to explore and plan future extension initiatives under both programs. Dr. Dhana Malamion, BAPOS faculty member and project implementer of the VAW-C Extension Project, together with Dr. Mary Grace Gacusan, CAS Dean and main researcher of the study on Local Languages which will soon be the Extension Project of the BAEL Program, presented proposed activities designed to promote community empowerment, gender awareness, and language preservation.

Joining the team were Mr. Dan Sumabat and Mr. Arnel De Guia, part-time faculty members of the BAPOS Program, who likewise contributed to the collaborative discussions and planning.

This partnership underscores the College’s continuing commitment to advancing academic research and community development through collaborative and inclusive extension endeavors.
