Competing against 𝟏𝟕 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, he secured an impressive 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 during the 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐈 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲.

𝗧𝗶𝘂 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲

Shanley Isabel A. Tiu, Editor-in-Chief of The Craftsman Publication of North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU)–Cantilan Campus, once again proves her writing prowess as she clinches the championship in the National Primus Tourney On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition during the 13th Philippines I Transform Leaders’ Convention (PITLC) in Teachers Camp, Baguio City, September 7.

Tiu emerges as the top writer among 28 national leaders and young writers across the country, showcasing her exceptional command of language, critical thinking, creativity, and ability to develop compelling ideas under intense time pressure. Guided by her coach, Dr. Juliet G. Fallado, Tiu strengthens her preparation and turns her ideas into a compelling narrative that addresses the competition’s central issue.

Competing under the theme “Combating Poverty, Achieving Prosperity for All,” Tiu captures the essence of the issue through her winning essay, “From Surviving to Thriving Youth Leading the Way to Prosperity for All.” Her piece highlights the vital role of the youth in addressing poverty, promoting sustainable development, and advancing transformative solutions toward a more prosperous society.

Her latest victory affirms her strength as a writer and campus journalist, building on her years of experience and dedicated service to The Craftsman Publication.

Through her ability to turn pressing social issues into clear, persuasive, and meaningful narratives, Tiu brings pride to NEMSU–Cantilan Campus and strengthens its growing presence in the national journalism, academic, and leadership arena.

Her championship further inspires fellow student journalists and young leaders to use writing as a powerful tool for critical thinking, advocacy, and meaningful social change.
