We are proud to share that two Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students, 𝗥𝗵𝗲𝘆𝘇𝗮𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗖. 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗡. 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 , from the Capiz State University Burias Campus – College of Agriculture and Forestry, proudly participated in the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸: 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, held via Zoom on April 24, 2026.

The participation of the students was made possible through the 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘇 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, under the leadership of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗝. The event was organized by 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗢 𝗧𝗘𝗗 and 𝗨𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗢-𝗜𝗡𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗗, 𝗚𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗬 𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗕𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, and 𝗰𝗼-𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 by the 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 under the 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮-𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

This was participated in by delegates from various countries and institutions, showcasing global collaboration and a shared commitment to agricultural development.

The gathering highlighted the importance of youth involvement in agriculture not only in farming, but also in innovation, sustainability, and ensuring global food security.

Their participation reflects the commitment of our students to become catalysts of change in modern agriculture through fresh ideas, technology, and active leadership.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | CAF Faculty Conducts Site Assessment for Summer 2026 OJT

Today, April 13, 2026, the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) faculty conducted a site visitation at the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) in La Granja to prepare for the upcoming Summer 2026 Student Internship Program.

The delegation, led by Program Chair Dr. R-Jun Frederick Gaspe, included SIP Coordinator Prof. Lailanie Abalde, Soil Science Coordinator Prof. Ressa Belmores, and Horticulture faculty Prof. Analyn Capulot. The team was graciously welcomed by Ms. Doris Paz Discaya, Agricultural Center Chief IV.

During the visit, the faculty inspected the primary training areas to ensure students receive high-quality, hands-on experience. To prioritize student welfare, the team also surveyed local boarding houses to ensure safe and accessible accommodations.

The day concluded with a visit to the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) to inquire about soil and plant tissue analysis, further strengthening our ties with industry laboratories.

The momentum continues! Today, April 8, 2026, marks the second day of our International Research Colloquium, focusing on Innovative Technologies for Smart Livestock Production. We are honored to learn from distinguished experts bridging the gap between theory and field application:
* Dr. R-Jun Frederick Gaspe (Program Chair, BS Agriculture - CAPSU Burias) shared vital insights on Linking Research to Practice: Ruminant Feeding Strategies for Filipino Farmers.
* Dr. John King Layos (Research Chair - CAPSU Burias) highlighted the Importance of Livestock Genetic Diversity in building sustainable production systems.
* Dr. Joval Martinez (President & CEO, Co-Lab Life Science) discussed the power of Collaborative Research at Co-Lab Life Science.

The day concluded with a high-level research collaboration meeting to lay the groundwork for the 3rd International Agri-Life and Bioresource Conference, which will be hosted by Capiz State University in March 2027! ✨

The afternoon session of the international research colloquium cm extension was filled with learning, innovation, and hands-on experience!

The participants had the opportunity to visit and explore the different projects of CAPSU, gaining valuable insights through orientation and technology demonstrations. From the CAPSU Dairy Project in Pontevedra 🐄, to the Panay Native Cattle and Chicken Project in Dumarao 🐓, and the i-Lab ProMaTech Innovations Laboratory in Burias 💡—each showcased a strong commitment to research, sustainability, and community development.

It was truly an inspiring experience witnessing science and innovation in action! 💚

The Cabugao Farmers Association, a valued partner organization of the College of Agriculture and Forestry – CAPSU Burias, actively participated in the 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙪𝙢 𝙘𝙪𝙢 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙘𝙠 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣!

In the morning session, the association actively engaged in the international research colloquium, gaining valuable insights on innovative and climate-smart livestock practices.

In the afternoon, an extension activity was conducted through an educational visit to key project sites:
📍 CAPSU Dairy Project in Pontevedra
📍 Panay Native Cattle and Chicken Project in Dumarao

This hands-on experience allowed the farmers to witness actual technologies and best practices in livestock production, strengthening their knowledge and capacity for sustainable farming.

Together, we continue to bridge research and extension—empowering our farmers and building resilient agricultural communities. 🌾✨

The Capiz State University - Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) successfully conducted the International Research Colloquium cm Extension Training on Innovative Technologies for Smart Livestock Production today, April 7, 2026, at the Board Room, CAPSU Central Administration, Roxas City, and via Zoom.

The College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) of CAPSU Burias proudly leads this event—marking a significant milestone that highlights the college’s growing role in global engagement, research, and extension.
The program opened with the welcome remarks of Dr. Leo Andrew Biclar, Vice President for Research, Development & Extension, followed by the message of University President Dr. Efren Linan.

✨ Morning Session Highlights:
🔹 Dr. Taketo Obitsu (Hiroshima University, Japan) discussed 𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚-𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝘼𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙉𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙍𝙪𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 and donated in vitro laboratory materials for livestock. Appreciation was expressed by Dr. Ryan Sarimong, Dean of CAF.

🔹 Dr. Fika Yuliza Purba (Hasanuddin University, Indonesia) presented the 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜.

🔹 Dr. Jorge Michael D. Dominguez (Chungbuk National University, Republic of Korea) shared 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝘼𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.
