SUCCESSFUL RESEARCH ANIMAL HANDLING WORKSHOP 🐀📚

May 2, 2026, forty-one (41) students and one (1) faculty member from the College of Medical Technology, University of Perpetual Help System – Isabela, actively participated in the hands-on training organized by PASMETH Inc. at the University of La Salette, Santiago City.

Following an introductory seminar via Zoom on April 30, the workshop provided practical exposure to proper and ethical laboratory animal handling techniques, including tail bleed, intraperitoneal injection, retro-orbital sampling, and cardiac puncture with humane euthanasia. Conducted in a professional and orderly manner, the activity enriched the students’ academic foundation with valuable real-world experience, reinforcing their commitment to responsible research practices.

On May 2, 2026, the College of Medical Technology, in partnership with Governor Faustino N. Dy Memorial Hospital, successfully held a bloodletting activity that truly embodied the spirit of service and compassion. Through the collective effort of our dedicated organizers, volunteers, and generous donors, we were able to collect a remarkable total of 127 blood bags.

Each donation represents hope, healing, and the gift of life for patients in need. This milestone is not just about numbers—it is a testament to the power of unity, the importance of community health, and the unwavering commitment to saving lives. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this possible. Together, we continue to prove that when we give, we make a difference.
