๐๐๐๐ | UPHSC to open BS Public Health Program
The University of Perpetual Help System Cauayan (UPHSC) prepares to offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) program following a campus evaluation by the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on October 14, 2026.
The College of Medical Health and Sciences proposes the program to address the demand for public health professionals and population health specialists in Region 2.
The RQAT evaluates the universityโs facilities and institutional readiness to offer the four-year degree program. The assessment covers laboratory facilities, learning spaces, library resources, faculty qualifications, and other requirements for program implementation.
The BSPH program focuses on disease prevention, epidemiology, community health management, biostatistics, and health policy. It also includes community-based and institutional internships during the final year.
The program targets graduating senior high school students, particularly those in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand. It also caters to students interested in public health, pre-medical studies, and careers in health-related fields.
Graduates may pursue careers in city health offices, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, epidemiology units, and corporate health management, depending on their qualifications and the requirements of specific positions.
UPHSC targets the next school year for the programโs opening, subject to the outcome of the evaluation and the necessary approvals.
