𝐒𝐀𝐒 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐬-𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐌𝐑𝐉
Full Prof. Dr. Le Munalim has joined Scopus-indexed, The Recoletos Multidisciplinary Research Journal (RMRJ), serving under the new Editorial Board as Associate Editor (Asia Cluster).

RMRJ transitions into a new and more impactful phase to ensure greater relevance and responsiveness to the needs of science in the country and beyond.

As Associate Editor, Dr. Munalim will help guide the journal’s overall direction, advise the Chief Editor on editorial matters, oversee and review submitted manuscripts, and serve as an ambassador of the journal by promoting it within academic and research communities.

Dr. Lé holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Linguistics from Philippine Normal University (PNU Manila) and brings with him extensive editorial and research experience.

He has served in various capacities in international Scopus-indexed journals. He has demonstrated strong research stamina with the publication of over 60 research articles, many of which are indexed in Scopus.

He also joins the echelon of top PH linguist-researchers in terms of research impact.

He currently serves as the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences of the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJR) and has held a deanship position for six years now, including prior academic leadership roles as SAS Dean and Research Director in Philippine Women's University (PWU) - Manila.

His appointment to the RMRJ Editorial Board further affirms his stature as a respected academic leader and researcher in the field.

Meanwhile, he serves as the Chief Editor of USJ-R SAS-based research journals: Recoletos International Journal of Languages & Literature (RIJLL) and the Recoletos Voices (RV).

RMRJ operates under the oversight of Prof. Dr. Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London, United Kingdom, with Dr. Jessica M. Magallon-Avenido serving as Managing Editor.

Congratulations, Nathan Andrew C. Ogatis!

The University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) - School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) proudly congratulates Mr. Nathan Andrew C. Ogatis, a third-year BS Biology student and DOST-SEI scholar, for being selected as one of the scholar-delegates representing Region VII at the 2026 National Patriot Scholars Congress (NPSC).

Organized by the Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) through the Filipino Patriot Scholars Program, the congress was held on September 3–6, 2026, at The Farm at Carpenter Hill in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

Mr. Ogatis joined fellow DOST-SEI scholars from across the country in this significant gathering, representing not only Region VII but also the University of San Jose–Recoletos with pride.

: DMS Rakes Major Dean’s Research Awards at 2026 SAS Convocation

The SAS - Department of Mathematics and Sciences (DMS) raked in all the major research awards during the 2026 SAS Convocation, held at the Recoletos Center for Culture and Arts (RCAC) on August 26, 2026.

The Dean’s RISE Research Awards were claimed by DMS, earning the following distinctions:

🏆 Most Research-Prolific SAS Department for AY 2025–2026
🏆 Best SAS Research Group — Dionsay, Cillar, Capucao & Dayap
🏆 Most Prolific SAS Researcher — Prof. Dr. Jonecis A. Dayap

Former SAS Chairs Honored at the 2026 SAS Convocation

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) proudly honored its former Program Chairs during the 2026 SAS Convocation held today, August 26, 2026, at the Recoletos Center for Culture and Arts.

Recognized were Dr. Ethel Luz E. Medado, LPT, former Chair of the Department of Communication, Languages and Literature;

Dr. Julius P. Dequillo, former Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Sciences;

Mr. Janson T. Toledo, former Chair of the Department of Psychology and Library Information Sciences; and

Atty. Romielyn H. Romano, former Chair of the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy.

Dean L. Munalim expressed his appreciation to the former chairs, recognizing them for their inspiring and transformative leadership as Program Chairs from the 1st Semester of A.Y. 2024–2025 to the 1st Semester of A.Y. 2025–2026.

SAS Fosters Academic Collaboration with De La Salle

Two Chairs of the Department of Communication, Languages and Literature (DCLL) — current Chair Dr. Ian Jarabelo and former Chair Dr. Ethel Luz Medado, held an open dialogue with Dr. Feorillo Petronilo A. Demeterio III, Distinguished Full Professor of De La Salle University (DLSU), in person in Manila on August 1, 2026.

The dialogue centered on opportunities for future collaboration in research and academic engagement, with particular emphasis on advancing Philippine Studies and Cultural Studies.

Fondly called “Dr. Yumyum” by his colleagues in the academe, Dr. Demeterio is recognized as one of the country’s leading scholars in Philippine Studies and Cultural Studies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Demeterio will serve as one of the keynote speakers at the Recoletos Graduate Research Conference (RGRC) 2026, to be held on October 15–16, 2026, at the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJR) Quadricentennial Building in Cebu City.
