⚖️ OT Outside the Box: OT in the Juvenile Justice System
Occupational therapy goes beyond clinics and hospitals—and into spaces where hope, healing, and second chances are deeply needed. 💙
Meet Ms. Renee Camille Cahinde, OTRP, DipWD, an occupational therapist volunteering with Restart HOPE for Children in Conflict with the Law, Inc. Through its programs and services, the organization supports children in conflict with the law (CICLs) and children at risk, helping them build brighter and more compassionate futures. ✨
In the juvenile justice setting, OT focuses on empowering youth through meaningful occupations and life skills training such as goal-setting, social skills development, executive functioning activities, and prevocational training. Through compassionate and collaborative practice, OTs help these young individuals rediscover their worth, express themselves better, and continue dreaming despite difficult life experiences. 🌱
This is OT beyond the traditional setting.
This is OT creating impact, restoring dignity, and empowering lives. ⚖️🧩
