Honor, Excellence, and Service: Pasidungog 2026 ✨

The UP Cebu College of Science celebrated the academic triumphs of the honorific scholars during Pasidungog 2026, held yesterday, April 29, 2026, at the UP Cebu Performing Arts Hall.

This year's ceremony gave a well-deserved spotlight to our scholars from the 1st and 2nd Semesters of AY 2024-2025.

We were privileged to have Mr. Arvin S. Arbuis (BS Computer Science, Class of 2018) return to his roots as our guest speaker. His message hit home, reminding students that true education is meant to be "uncomfortable" and challenging everyone to "question what you see" while never surrendering their "ability to think."

Dean Alvin G. Roxas also challenged the awardees to lead with integrity and a commitment to "serving with a heart for the marginalized."

Congratulations to all our scholars! Continue to advance knowledge for the service of the people. 🌻

📢 HEALTH ADVISORY: METRO CEBU AIR QUALITY UPDATE
As of April 20, 2026

The persistent haze remains a concern in Metro Cebu today. According to the latest data from the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB-7), the air quality at the Talisay City Station is currently classified as "VERY UNHEALTHY" with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 177.

While we hope to see these numbers trend downward soon, the current levels of PM2.5 still pose significant health risks. Please take the necessary precautions to keep yourselves safe:

🏠 STAY INDOORS: Keep windows and doors closed.
🚫 AVOID OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: Skip the jog or outdoor sports for now.
😷 MASK UP: If you must head out, please use a well-fitted N95 or KN95 mask. Standard surgical or cloth masks are not enough to filter PM2.5.
🩺 MONITOR YOUR HEALTH: Stay hydrated and seek medical help if needed.
