From April 13 to May 1 2026, 15 of our freshmen and sophomore students faithfully completed their Evangelism Practical and Church Planting by participating in the Summer of Service (SOS) in Dauis, Bohol.

Through evangelism and community outreach, they became instruments of God’s love—bringing the Gospel and building connections within the community. By God’s grace, the goal was fulfilled: a committed core group of believers was established and entrusted to the pioneer pastor.

We rejoice in the planting of a new church, Hope of the City Church – Dauis Campus, now led by Pastor Ralph Sergio Patulada and his wife Pastora Mary Ann.

To our dear students, we are proud of you! Your labor in the Lord is never in vain.

We were truly blessed to have our Student IA Pastor, Ira Marie Cabahug, share during last Monday’s Chapel Service on the theme “Rediscovery,” drawn from the life of Elijah in 1 Kings 19:13–18. Elijah experienced a powerful victory on Mount Carmel, yet his journey did not end there—he soon found himself fleeing for his life from Jezebel. In his escape, he unknowingly found himself running back to God, reminding us that victory does not make us invincible and our calling does not remove our frailty.

When God asked, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” it was not out of ignorance, but an invitation into deeper awareness. In this moment, God led Elijah into rediscovery, restoring his life in the midst of weakness and bringing him back to a place of divine encounter. The message highlighted that God initiates rediscovery by drawing us back before sending us forward, reveals Himself through intimate presence rather than mere displays of power, and corrects our distorted perspectives by reminding us that He is greater than what we feel.

Finally, God reaffirms the call, showing that rediscovery leads to recommissioning. He did not discard Elijah in his weakness but gave him renewed direction, future impact, and a legacy to pass on. Elijah entered depleted but came out enabled and empowered once more, for God tunes the hearts of His servants. In the same way, when we feel weary or lost, God invites us to rediscover Him so we can rise again, renewed and ready to walk in His calling.

Last Wednesday’s Chapel Service centered on the theme “Boldness in God’s Call: Living a Holy Life,” powerfully shared by Mr. Mark Levi Mabalot, a senior Religious Education major. He opened by reminding us that God’s call to a holy life is not based on our works or achievements, but solely on His grace, a grace that saves, transforms, and sets us apart for His divine purposes.

He emphasized that being called by God means living as His reflection, even in the midst of temptation and persecution. As people set apart, we are invited to align our lives with His eternal plan, one that is already secured through Christ. He highlighted that Jesus brings life and hope, conquering death not by avoiding it, but by triumphing over it. Because of this victory, we are given a firm assurance of hope and strength. Like the Apostle Paul, who was appointed as a herald, apostle, and teacher, we too are called into mission. Though the path is not easy and challenges are inevitable, we are reminded not to fear, for God equips, enables, and empowers us through the Holy Spirit.

Indeed, confidence in God produces boldness. When we trust in Him, we are strengthened to persevere and to choose faith over fear in every circumstance. May this message stir our hearts to live boldly and holy, fully embracing God’s call in our lives, and may we continue to walk in obedience, knowing that the One who called us is faithful to sustain us until the end.

Last Friday’s chapel service at Immanuel Bible College was blessed with a timely message from Rev. Melchor Belono-ac, one of the college’s faculty members. Preaching from James 1:2-4, his sermon titled “Gratitude in Trials” reminded the congregation that trials are not meant to break believers but to strengthen their faith.

Rev. Belono-ac emphasized that trials are certain to come and may appear in many forms such as health struggles, financial challenges, and relationship difficulties. Yet believers are called to count it all joy, not because trials themselves are good, but because God is good and is at work through them.

He further explained that trials serve a purpose: they test the genuineness of faith, producing perseverance and spiritual stamina, much like gold refined through fire. Ultimately, the goal of these trials is spiritual maturity and completeness, cultivation one's character and deepening one’s faith.
The message reminded everyone that trials are not interruptions to spiritual growth but they are instruments God uses to shape believers into maturity.
