🪸 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 🌊🐠

The sea has not ceased to yield- life, breath, part of every crevice of our country. But today, it isn't called out with plenty; it is called out with haste. With open hands and determined hearts, we respond to the call of the Month of the Ocean. This is not just a celebration. It is a reckoning, an opportunity to consider the seas that we care about and what we are, in fact, willing to do about them.

May this month take us from admiration to action. Allow it to rock us out of our comfort zones and into the beach, the communities, and the important dialogues. Each cleanup attended, all awareness created, all young minds awakened with curiosity about the deep, all these are cumulative towards creating a future, when our oceans will be able to breathe once again. Generation after generation, our people have been to the sea. And now we pass it on.

As the Academic Year 2025–2026 comes to a close, we celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the students of Marine Biology and the Marine Biology Student Organization (MBSO). From showcasing creativity and talent in competitions, actively participating in leadership camps, to promoting research and innovation in various seminars and events, our students have truly exemplified the qualities of dedicated learners and responsible leaders. Through teamwork, passion, and a commitment to excellence, they have not only grown as individuals but also contributed to the advancement of our field. On February 13, 2026, the UNP-Biology Society (BioSoc) together with the Marine Biology Students’ Organization (MBSO) spearheaded an activity entitled, “Rhythm of the Heart: A Zumba Dance Exercise” in celebration of National Heart Month. Biomates and Seablings gathered in the UNP-Oval at 3:00 PM, and started to hype the beat.💃🕺

This activity does not just go along in promoting a healthier heartbeat while our body groves to an aerobics, but also how collaboration can help us influence in a larger society.🌊🍃
