To stir up conversations about the futures of education, work, and technology, continue the indigenization of futures thinking through Hiraya Foresight, and to assist the National Government through the Committee on SDGs, Innovation, and Futures Thinking chaired by Senator Pia Cayetano in the institutionalization of futures thinking in the Philippines-- administrative heads and faculty from the JRMSU System, spearheaded by the Quality Assurance Director, Engr. Gillert Magdayao Bongcac engaged in the activity contributing their expertise and igniting the Filipino Hiraya through the power of foresight.

"Hiraya Manawari"
Jumpstart of the Futures Thinking Journey of JRMSU with the JRMSU Top Management, Deans, Directors, Administrative Heads, and Staff-- spearheaded by the Quality Assurance Center with Resource Speakers from the Philippine Futures Thinking Society: Mr. Emmanuel de Guia, the Resident Futurist of the Philippine Senate Committee on SDGs; Ms. Jalaine Joyce V. Malabanan, the Chief of the Center for Futures Research at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

The two-day activity tackled different approaches to strategic design that considers what is likely to change and what is likely to stay the same in the future, as a means to be more reflective in strategic planning. It is a creative and exploratory process that uses divergent thinking, seeking many possible answers and acknowledging uncertainty. Futures Thinking and Strategic Foresight are a set of approaches and tools designed to help us identify emerging issues, negotiate uncertainties, articulate scenarios, develop a common vision of a desired future through wide participation, introduce innovation, and design robust policies and strategies. Together, we work towards further uplifting our standards.
