[π‹πŽπŽπŠ] The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), under the Curriculum and Instruction Office (CIO), successfully conducted a two-day Writeshop on the Enhancement of Competency Assessment and Instructional Materials Development on November 13–14, 2025, at the University Hostel Dining Hall. The activity was facilitated by the ETEEAP Office headed by its Deputy Director, Associate Professor Jocelyn B. Dofitas, under CIO led by its Director, Dr. Genna J. Carmelo. Faculty representatives from the Obrero, Mintal and Tagum-Mabini Campuses actively participated in the writeshop.

During the opening program, Dr. Carmelo delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the writeshop and highlighting its significance in strengthening ETEEAP implementation across the University. This was followed by Associate Professor Dofitas, who outlined the rationale of the activity, emphasizing the need for enhanced assessment tools and contextualized instructional materials to better serve non-traditional learners. Representing the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Eveyth Deligero, Dean of the Office of Advanced Studies, delivered an inspirational message on behalf of Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, underscoring the University’s commitment to responsive and inclusive educational pathways.

Dr. Maria Christina B. Condez, the ETEEAP Focal Person from CHED Regional Office XI, served as the first-day resource speaker, delivering an insightful discussion on the relevance of the ETEEAP and providing an orientation on the updated CHED Memorandum Order. She also emphasized the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the program, particularly its assessment processes and the required standard forms. Her presentation helped participants deepen their understanding of ETEEAP’s updated policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.

On the second day, Associate Professor Marivic N. Neri led the session on the development of instructional materials and mapping of course plans tailored for ETEEAP learners. Participants engaged in a hands-on workshop where they crafted outputs, refined assessment tools, and aligned their course designs with competency-based education principles.

The writeshop concluded on a highly productive note, equipping participants with strengthened skills in designing contextualized, learner-centered courses and assessment tools. The event reaffirmed USeP’s commitment to delivering quality education and supporting faculty in crafting programs that meet the unique needs of ETEEAP students.

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) has completed onsite validation conducted by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) for three of its Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) academic programs, namely: Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF), and Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA). The assessments took place on March 7, 11, and 14, 2025, respectively.

The evaluation for the BEED program was led by Dr. Evelyn Ecle, Education Supervisor II at CHED RO XI, along with Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) member Dr. Vivien Grace Jubahib. The BSF program was assessed by Dr. Lourdes D. Cesar, Education Supervisor II, and Dr. Charlyn Gorgonio, RQAT member. The BPA program underwent evaluation under the leadership of Dr. Christopher Pio O. Pulido, Supervising Education Program Specialist, with support from Dr. Melchor Q. Bombeo of the RQAT.

Associate Professor Jocelyn B. Dofitas, ETEEAP Deputy Director, together with Dr. Jeneifer Nueva, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Genna Carmelo, Curriculum and Instruction Office Director, coordinated the validation activities in collaboration with the college deans, program heads, and faculty members.

Dr. Cecirly Puig, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences (CARS), together with Mr. Marvin A. Batiancila, Program Head, led the compliance efforts for the BSF program. In the College of Development Management (CDM), Dr. Aristeo Salapa supervised the evaluation of the BPA program, with Mr. Ronie G. Panes overseeing its implementation. Meanwhile, the BEED program was guided by Dr. Raquel Almasa, Dean of the College of Education (CED), and Dr. Emmie N. Cabanlit, Program Head. The active involvement of these academic leaders and their respective program heads and faculty members played a vital role in ensuring that academic, curricular, and facility requirements were met during the evaluation process.

The University extends its sincere gratitude to the CHED for their support and guidance throughout the validation process. USeP also commends the participating academic units that submitted applications for ETEEAP offerings, reflecting a collective commitment to educational innovation and quality.

These onsite validations were conducted to assess the readiness and compliance of the programs for delivery under the ETEEAP framework, in line with Republic Act No. 12124, also known as the ETEEAP Act. The program aligns with USeP’s strategic direction of fostering inclusive, accessible, and lifelong learning opportunities. This reinforces the University's mission to deliver transformative education that meets the evolving needs of society.
