Years have passed ever since the Vinta Yearbook firstly released a story pertaining to the life of our valiant brethren who have started a new journey towards their chosen paths. The Vinta Yearbook is a symbol of a studentโ€™s journey towards greatness, the official yearbook staff has always been the shadows that documented the life of each and every graduate that has stepped inside the University w

alls. A group of individuals, that through cooperation and passion, has a single goal of documenting the fulfilling moments of each graduate. Every year, these individuals, compose a tribute for the eagles that are now ready to take flight and soar the world. Commemorating the valor of each student, the collection of various portraits radiates the style and pride of each and every student. The Vinta is a traditional boat in the Mindanao that was used by travelers to go to distant places. As the official Yearbook of the University of Mindanao, it is the duty of the Vinta staff to cater the yearly subscription of the yearbook in order to give the seniors the commemoration that they deserve. The theme varies from time to time in order to celebrate the diversity, the University has to offer. The Vinta staff shall ferry these memories into something that each student can bring in their journey, enshrining their achievements and glory until time immemorial.

The distribution of photo packages for the month has finally come to its conclusion! The Vinta Office closes its doors in respect of the upcoming finals week of the university and the annual holidays. Therefore, we will NOT be releasing the said packages in the next Saturdays of the month of December 2025.

Candidates from different colleges proudly represented their advocacies and embodied the values of the University of Mindanao through poise, intellect, and heartfelt expression. The evening was filled with inspiring moments as each participant demonstrated that true beauty lies in character, conviction, and the courage to make a difference.

Good news, graduates! Graduation photo packages from previous yearsโ€”Prestige (2020), Beyond the South (2021), Better Hue (2022), Elegacy (2023), Tales and Trails (2024), and Holoclass (2025)โ€”are now ready for distribution.

To officially resume this November 22 of 2025, the Vinta office at UM Matina Campus will be open every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for package pick-up. This convenient Saturday schedule ensures you can grab your cherished memories from these past years.

Stories of growth and resilience took center stage as Ms. Kyline Alcantara and Ms. Sarah Hilomen-Velasco inspired the UM community during The Queenโ€™s University Talk Segment. Both speakers reminded UMians that becoming oneโ€™s best self is a process shaped by effort, patience, and self-belief.

Kyline Alcantara encouraged students to embrace growth without fearing judgment, turning the idea of making things possible into a symbol of courage and perseverance. She emphasized the value of striving for your dreams, practicing self-love, and setting boundaries โ€” key elements in oneโ€™s personal and professional growth.

Sarah Hilomen-Velasco highlighted that success comes through patience, persistence, and the right mindset. She reminded students that life after graduation isnโ€™t about instant results but about staying focused and resilient. Every obstacle and progress contributes to forming a meaningful future.
