LOOK | The UP Mindanao Student Electoral Board proclaimed the elected candidates for the UP Mindanao University Student Council (USC) and Local College Student Councils for Academic Year 2025 - 2026.

31 out of 32 Candidates has been elected to the position. USC incumbent-councilors Lara Chyrselle Felescoso and John Lariu Labininay, elected as USC chairperson and vice chairperson, respectively, will be leading the council.

Multiple seats remain unfilled across the different student councils, with the USC missing one college representative from the College of Science and Mathematics. Additionally, the local college student councils also have multiple vacant positions, the CHSSSC with two, the CSMSC with one, and the SOMSC with four.

The University of the Philippines Mindanao Student Electoral Board (USEB) invites the entire UP Mindanao community to the Proclamation Rally of our newly elected student leaders for the 2025-2026 school year on April 7, 2025, at 5:30 PM, at Lorenzo Hall.

This event follows after Piniliay 2025, the universityโ€™s local election, concluded on April 3rd with a voter turnout of 72.30%.

The University of the Philippines Mindanao Student Electoral Board releases the Initial results from Piniliay 2025. The electoral board received 32 candidacies, all under the slate of Alyansa ng mga Aktibong Kabataan ng UP Mindanao (ANAK-UPMin).

The majority threshold (50% +1) applies solely to unopposed candidates. As stipulated in Article IX, Section 3 of the UP Mindanao Student Electoral Code, a University Councilor position is considered opposed if there are more than eight (8) candidates. In such cases, the majority rule no longer applies. Given that there are nine (9) candidates running for University Councilor in this election, the position is considered opposed, and the 50%+1 requirement is rendered inapplicable. Instead, the ranking method will be used to determine the elected university councilors.
