THE BATCH 1995 JOURNEY
The journey to the first virtual Grand Alumni Homecoming, 2021 - was an opportunity that led us to discover better versions of ourselves, as women of the university of the Immaculate Conception.
We share this timeline to encourage each other on their own continued journey, of inspiring others, making a difference and breaking through.
2019
September
The first General Assembly happened in a charming cafe in Bajada, Davao city. It was heartwarming to see familiar faces we haven't seen in person for almost 25 years. We originally planned an event that is potentially massive and grandiose
October
The Core Group was formed.
November
We opened a savings account at Banco De Oro where some of our generous batchmates from overseas sent over funds for use in our cause
December
Batch 1995 representative Murree Cunnee Cua-Arcega formally accepted the key of responsibility from batch 1994.
2020
January
With barely a year of planning, and a huge financial target - everyone got busy. Sponsorship letters were distributed, suppliers were sourced and chosen, ideas after ideas were exchanged and modified.
March
The earth stood still, and the celebration halted. COVID-19 happened and the impact has led to a global crisis of unimaginable proportion. Should we keep going? Is it still worth celebrating, despite hiding behind masks and keeping distance from one another?
2021
The pause gave us the chance to reflect, to be grateful, to step up and give back
June
As people are slowly making sense of this post-pandemic time, the batch representatives started to reignite the light. New goals were set and put into action.
July
We visited Bahay Pasilungan and share Jollibee meals and personal hygiene kits to the shelter residents.
August
We reached out to a batchmate in need and extended financial aid for the hospitalization of her husband who is battling chronic kidney disease.
We also granted a scholarship to an incoming Senior High school health STEM learner, Kassandra Kaye Agustin.
With also gifted our beloved High School teachers with 1-sack of premium rice, each and delivered it directly to their homes.
Finally, September, The University of the Immaculate Conception Highschool Batch 1995, in cooperation with UIC Alumni Homecoming Association will be hosting the first-ever, virtual Homecoming Celebration, featuring our 2020 Jubilarians.
Yes, the year 2020 has thrown us a few curveballs and prevented our batch from celebrating our 25th Grand Alumni Homecoming last December 8, 2020, but this year, we're committed to carrying on this exciting tradition, this time from the comfort of our homes.
