[DEPARTMENT UPDATE]: DFLCD welcomes Professors from the ECE Department of The Education University of Hong Kong for an Information and Learning Session with Faculty and Students

Last October 21, the Department of Family Life and Child Development (DFLCD) of the UP Diliman College of Home Economics warmly welcomed visiting professors from the Department of Early Childhood Education of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) for an information and learning session with DFLCD faculty members and students. Assoc. Prof. Ian Lam Chun Ban, Associate Head for Research and Development, and Asst. Prof. Jenny Yun Chen Chan, Associate Head for Internationalization, graciously shared information and experiences on the graduate academic programs and the research culture in the ECE Department of EdUHK.

As part of the month-long observance of Palestinian Heritage Month, the University of the Philippines and the Embassy of the State of Palestine present an interactive culinary demonstration highlighting the rich culinary traditions of Palestine.

Food is more than sustenance, it is a vital repository of memory, history, and community identity. Through a live showcase featuring Palestinian recipe and technique, this session offers participants an immersive encounter with the living heritage and enduring foodways of the Palestinian people.

Amidst continuous threats to land and cultural continuity, the preservation of traditional gastronomy stands as a powerful testament to survival, hospitality, and cultural resistance.

Organized by the Office of International Linkages, in partnership with the UP College of Home Economics, this event invites students, faculty, and guests to experience Palestinian culture through its living culinary heritage.

The 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗲ñ𝗼𝗿, 𝗝𝗿. 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗲ñ𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 is open to eligible MS and PhD students to help cover research expenses, lab analysis, materials, and equipment.
