Adiong Memorial State College - Department of Agriculture is pleased to share the successful conduct of their Field Education, an initiative designed to enhance the practical learning experience of our students and deepen their understanding of sustainable agricultural practices.

During the visit, participants had the opportunity to observe real farm operations. This hands-on exposure provided valuable insights into soil management, crop production, and the challenges faced by today’s farming communities.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the 𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒎 𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 and 𝒂𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 who welcomed us and offered their expertise. Their cooperation played a crucial role in enriching the educational value of this activity.

In support of the national initiatives on soil conservation and environmental protection, 𝐀𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 – 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 and 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 conduct a 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 on December 4, 2025 in the 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫.

This activity aims to help reduce soil erosion, strengthen land stability, improve water retention, and promote long-term ecological sustainability within our communities.

Trees play an essential role in preventing soil degradation, preserving soil fertility, and safeguarding natural habitats. Through this initiative, we hope to raise awareness among participants and inspire them to become committed advocates of environmental protection.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞, especially its Chairwoman, for their strong support and cooperation. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (SSG) of AMSC for their active participation in this environmental effort.

Agriculture Department students of 𝐀𝐌𝐒𝐂 proudly took part in hands-on fieldwork at Rantian Ditsaan-Ramain, Lanao del Sur—an experience that deepens appreciation for the hard work, skill, and resilience of every Filipino farmer.

Behind every bundle of seedlings, every step in the mud, and every grain of rice on our table is a story of dedication and sacrifice. Today, we honor our farmers and reaffirm our commitment to learning, supporting, and uplifting the agricultural sector.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Sir Musa Marohum Tambilawan and the people of Rantian for the unwavering support and guidance extended to our students during their fieldwork.

The Department of Agriculture students at Adiong Memorial State College – conducted their Educational Field Study at Ikram Mushroom Farm, an activity designed to expose students to real-life agricultural practices and farm management.

This activity allowed the students to experience the true setting of a working farm, where they actively participated in fundamental agricultural operations such as land preparation, mulching, and packing of the mushroom substrate mixture. Through these hands-on tasks, the students gained a practical understanding of how proper soil preparation and mulching contribute to healthy crop growth and sustainable farming.

More than just fieldwork, this experience strengthened the students’ appreciation of the hard work behind food production and their role as future agriculturist. It also fostered teamwork, adaptability, and a deeper connection to the land — essential values in the field of agriculture. 🌾

The SSC 001 students, handled by PROF. SAMIAH M. ADIONG proudly conducted their 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐌𝐒𝐔).This hands-on learning experience allowed them to explore and understand the vital role of soil in crop production and sustainable farming systems.

During the activity, students practiced various soil sampling techniques, observed soil texture and color, and conducted basic tests to determine soil fertility and nutrient composition. These experiences deepen their appreciation of how science supports productivity and sustainability in agriculture.

This field activity aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice — transforming classroom concepts into real-world applications. It also strengthens the students’ ability to analyze, interpret, and make science-based decisions essential for effective farm management.🌿
