On 26 September 2026, the St. Paul University Dumaguete ROTC Unit conducted its 8th ROTC Training Day for the First Semester, gathering the Advance and Basic ROTC cadets and cadettes at Mere Maria Hall and the SPUD Parade Ground from 1300H to 1700H. The training featured lectures on the Standards of Conduct of a Soldier, Core Values, and Values Development, alongside practical instruction in Drills and CeremoniesโBasic Commands.
The lectures emphasized the principles that guide a soldierโs conduct, the core values that uphold the profession, and the importance of developing character alongside military competence. With Cpl Lodemer D. Eusebio (AGS) PA as guest speaker, the session provided cadets with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the responsibilities and values expected of a soldier. These discussions were complemented by practical drills at the parade ground, reinforcing the importance of discipline, attentiveness, and proper ex*****on of commands.
The training brought together instruction in both character and conduct, recognizing that military leadership requires more than the ability to follow commandsโit demands integrity, accountability, and a firm commitment to the values one represents.
As the Corps continues its training, each formation serves as an opportunity to strengthen not only the cadetsโ skills, but also the principles that will guide them in their future responsibilities.
