Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) conducted the 4th University Job Fair 2026, in partnership with the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Iloilo, giving opportunities to students, graduates, and job seekers through employment opportunities held at the NISU Main Gymnasium on May 28.
In her message, Dr. Gilda E. Deguma, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), emphasized that the career development support program helps students develop preparation, perseverance, and a mindset for continuous learning.
โThis career development support program aligns to the concept of tapping benchmark. This builds preparation, perseverance, and the willingness to continuously learn,โ the VPAA said. โAlways remember that employers do not only look for academic excellence. They also value integrity, communication skills, adaptability, teamwork, and a positive attitude,โ Dr. Deguma further noted.
Professor Mark Anthony P. Lopez, Executive Secretary of NISU, expressed his appreciation to all individuals and offices who contributed to the success of the program and recognized the industry partners for extending opportunities to students and graduates. He likewise officially opened the program.
Meanwhile, PESO Department Head and Provincial Public Employment Service Manager Ms. Cynthia P. Dario extended gratitude to NISU for its continued partnership with the Iloilo Provincial Government in conducting the annual job fair.
She also encouraged job seekers to remain confident, prepared, and open to learning while reminding them that setbacks and rejections should not discourage them.
Moreover, Dr. Arlyn E. Siatong of the Department of Labor and Employment Region VI emphasized that the job fair serves not only as a venue connecting employers and job seekers, but also as a place of hope and opportunity for individuals aspiring to build better futures.
She likewise highlighted the important role of employers in helping strengthen families and communities by providing meaningful work and encouraged participating companies to consider hiring qualified applicants on the spot to further support aspiring professionals in beginning their careers.
The activity gathered graduating students and various partner companies to provide employment opportunities, career guidance, and professional preparation for future job seekers.
Among the participating employers were iQor Iloilo, Lifebank Rural Bank, Megaworld Global Estate Inc., SM Supermarket, True Alliance BPO, the Philippine Army, and other local and national companies that conducted onsite recruitment and offered career opportunities to applicants.
The activity reaffirmed NISUโs commitment to empowering students and graduates by bridging them with industry partners and creating pathways toward meaningful employment and career development.
