Program-Specific Admission Requirements
Academic Year 2026โ2027
In reference to the results of the Mindanao State University System Admission and Scholarship Examination (MSU-SASE) for Academic Year 2026โ2027, the Department of Secondary Education hereby announces the conduct of the Program-Specific Admission Requirements for applicants who indicated the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major in English as their first program preference.
Pursuant to University policy limiting enrollment to forty-five (45) students per academic program, and in compliance with the institutional requirement that thirty percent (30%) of the admission criteria be based on program-specific evaluation, the Department shall implement the following selection process:
๐ QUALIFYING EXAMINATION
The top seventy (70) applicants based on the MSU-SASE composite ranking shall be invited to take a department-level qualifying examination designed to assess reading and writing competencies.
๐ STRUCTURED INTERVIEW
Applicants who qualify shall undergo a structured interview intended to evaluate listening and speaking competencies relevant to the English education program.
๐ FINAL SELECTION
Admission to the BSEd Major in English shall be determined based on the following criteria:
โข MSU-SASE Score โ 50%
โข Program-Specific Admission Requirements
(Qualifying Examination and Interview) โ 30%
โข Grade 12 General Average โ 10%
โข Financial Status โ 10%

Following the cumulative evaluation process, the top forty-five (45) applicants from both merit-based and regular admission categories shall be recommended for admission to the BSEd Major in English for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026โ2027.
This admission mechanism aims to uphold transparency, merit-based selection, and the maintenance of academic standards aligned with the competencies expected of future English educators.
Applicants are advised to wait for the official email from the Admission Office regarding the list of qualified applicants and further instructions. Updates shall likewise be disseminated through the official communication channels of the Department and the College of Education.
