The College of Teacher Education (CTED) showcased its students' skills and creativity during the Math Fair 2026, earning recognition in pageantry, art, mathematical games, and performance on October 2, 2026.

Guided by the theme “Mathematics and Hope: Minds for a Changing World,” the event highlighted how mathematics extends beyond numbers and equations, encouraging students to think critically, explore their creativity, and work together toward shared goals.

In the Mr. and Ms. Math Fair competition, Ylaiza Grace Baguioso and Charls Paculanang claimed the crowns, representing confidence, poise, and the spirit of the celebration.

Creativity also took center stage in the Modulo Art competition, where Tricia Marie L. Trinidad secured second place through her artistic work.

In Damath, Alaiza Camero earned second place, demonstrating strategic thinking and mathematical skill in a game that combines computation with decision-making.

The Math Quiz Bee featured Leanisa Rodriguez and Sharpey Mae Lauron, who represented CTED in a competition that tested mathematical knowledge, quick thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Bringing movement and teamwork into the celebration, the CTED representatives in Math Sayaw earned second place. Ever heard of the phrase “𝔯𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱 𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔰𝔬𝔫, 𝔴𝔯𝔬𝔫𝔤 𝔱𝔦𝔪𝔢”? Sometimes, love is real, the feelings are genuine, and the promises are sincere, but life has other plans. There are things that even love cannot keep together, and sometimes, learning to love means learning to let go.

“𝑀𝒶𝓎 𝓂𝑔𝒶 𝓉𝒶𝑜 𝓈𝒶 𝒷𝓊𝒽𝒶𝓎 𝓃𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃 𝓃𝒶 𝒹𝒶𝒹𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓊𝓅𝒶𝓃𝑔 𝓂𝒶𝓃𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓁𝒾. 𝑀𝒶𝓎 𝓂𝑔𝒶 𝓉𝒶𝑜 𝓇𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓂𝒶𝓃𝒶𝓃𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓁𝒾 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝑜 𝓀𝒶𝓁𝒶𝓊𝓃𝒶𝓃, 𝒶𝒶𝓁𝒾𝓈.”

People come and go, leaving pieces of themselves in our lives. Some teach us how to love, others teach us how to let go. And even when we cannot control who stays and who leaves, we can allow ourselves to grieve for what we once had and cherish what remains.

𝒫𝑒𝓇𝒽𝒶𝓅𝓈 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓂𝑜𝓈𝓉 𝓅𝒶𝒾𝓃𝒻𝓊𝓁 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒶𝒷𝑜𝓊𝓉 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝒾𝓈 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝑜𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝒽𝒶𝒹 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒷𝑒𝒶𝓊𝓉𝒾𝒻𝓊𝓁, 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓉𝒽 𝒻𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒻𝑜𝓇, 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝓌𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 𝓁𝒶𝓈𝓉 𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇, 𝑜𝓃𝓁𝓎 𝓉𝑜 𝓌𝒶𝓉𝒸𝒽 𝒾𝓉 𝓈𝓁𝑜𝓌𝓁𝓎 𝒷𝑒𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝒶 𝓂𝑒𝓂𝑜𝓇𝓎.

Some stories do not end the way we imagined, but they still leave something meaningful behind. A lesson. A memory. A love that once made us feel alive.

This is 𝑴𝑼𝑳𝑰: 𝑵𝑮𝑼𝑵𝑰𝑻 𝑯𝑼𝑳𝑰, a story of love that found its way back, hearts that never truly forgot, and a reunion that came with one final goodbye.

Make sure to recall all the lessons at 'wag idaan sa stock knowledge ang lahat, dahil sakanya lang dapat babagsak at hindi sa exam!😂

Time to claim those high scores, believe in yourself that you can do it! Trust in the knowledge you've worked so hard to acquire, believe in your capabilities, and breathe. You are ready for this. All those late-night reviews, caffeinated hours, and endless notes will be worth it.

Manifesting pasadong grades, high scores, and a successful midterm season for everyone. God bless NORSUnians!🤞🏻🍀

The College of Teacher Education (CTED) celebrated the 59th ASEAN Founding Anniversary as its student representatives earned notable distinctions in Extemporaneous Speech, Quiz Bee, Poster Making, and Pageantry on August 24, 2026.

Under the theme “Navigating Our Future, Together,” the celebration brought students from different organizations together in competitions that highlighted communication skills, knowledge, creativity, and cultural appreciation.

Franklin Senillo of the Drama, Debate, and English Society (DDE) secured the Champion title in the ASEAN Extemporaneous Speech Contest, delivering his ideas with confidence, clarity, and quick thinking.

In the ASEAN Quiz Bee 2026, Mitchi Luz Gemina of DDE and Rodrigo Llacer of the Social Studies competed as a team and secured Second Place, putting their knowledge and preparation to the test.

Cyril Jr. Baquilta of the Social Studies also claimed the Champion title in Poster Making, translating the spirit of ASEAN into visual form through his creative work.

The pageant stage delivered a double victory for CTED as Niel Facturan of the Mathematics Society and Christelle Ann B. Cortes of DDE earned the titles of Mr. ASEAN 2026 and Miss ASEAN 2026, respectively.

Representing Timor-Leste, Niel carried the identity of ASEAN’s newest member, which officially joined the organization as its 11th member on October 26, 2025. His performance earned him four special awards:

🏆 Best in Production Number
🏆 Best in Runway
🏆 Best in Tribal Denim Attire
🏆 Best in ASEAN Costume

Christelle represented Thailand and matched Niel’s feat with four special awards of her own:

🏆 Best in Production Number
🏆 Best in Runway
🏆 Best in Tribal Denim Attire
🏆 Best Speaker

Adding a personal touch to both winning presentations, Mr. John Anthony M. Cabildo personally crafted the costumes worn by Mr. and Ms. ASEAN, bringing his own creativity and craftsmanship to the stage.

From the podium to the quiz table, from poster boards to the pageant stage, CTED students brought different skills into one celebration. Their performances reflected the many ways young people can take part in building connections across ASEAN.

More than a showcase of winners, the celebration gave CTED students a space to learn, compete, create, and represent cultures beyond their own.
