Congratulations to the President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) for ranking 270 in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Ranking!
PRMSU ranked 270 as part of the Global Top 400 Innovative Universities in the world which was announced during the 5th Annual Conference of the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) held at Luce Auditorium, Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Philippines & via Zoom today, July 10, 2025.
Kyung Sung Kim, President of i-STAT, announced the results of the WURI 2025 during the second day of the three-day HLU annual conference.
The university ranked 6th in Entrepreneurial Spirit category; ranked 7th in Infrastructure/ Technology category; and ranked 9th in Crisis Management category in the Global Top 100 Innovative Universities.
This is the second consecutive year that PRMSU joined the WURI ranking.
PRMSU was recognized in 3 categories: Rank 6 in Entrepreneurial Spirit category with its project titled โAETA-preneurship: Empowering Indigenous People (IP) Mothers through Sustainable Livelihood in Salted Egg Production;โ Rank 7 in Infrastructure/ Technology category with its project titled โInnovating Renewable Energy Technologies for Education, Research, and Community Development;โ and Rank 9 in Crisis Management category with its project titled โA Safer, Resilient and Crisis-Ready State University: The PRMSU Way.โ
โI am very grateful that for our second-year participation in the WURI, we were able to be part of the Top 10 of the three out of 16 categories. This shows our institution's continuous efforts to promote social responsibility for the indigenous communities, advocate for renewable energy technologies, and build resilient and crisis-ready university,โ University President Dr. Roy N. Villalobos said.
WURI is a global ranking of universities with 16 categories for evaluation for 2025: A1. Student Support and Engagement; A2. Student Mobility and Openness; A3. Industrial Application; A4. Entrepreneurial Spirit; A5. Crisis Management; A6. Ethics and Integrity; A7. Technology Development and Application; A8. SDG-Based Responses to Global Challenges; B1. Visionary Leadership; B2. Empowerment-Based Management; B3. ESG Trend; B4. Culture/Values; B5. Funding for Sustainability; B6. Infrastructure/Technology; B7. Cost-Effectiveness Management; and B8. University Brand and Reputation.
A total of 1,253 universities participated in the 16 evaluation categories mentioned above, resulting in 4,866 evaluated cases. Institutions from 87 countries, including North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania, submitted their entries.
The WURI ranking values not only the traditional academic performance of universities, but also innovative and practical performance that meets industrial and social needs.
