Aklan State University–Ibajay proudly participated in the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗣 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, themed “𝙐𝙋𝙇𝙄𝙁𝙏: 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥, 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚-𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣,” held on October 16–17, 2026, at Acacia Hotel Manila and the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna in Biñan, Laguna.

The two-day event brought together tourism and hospitality educators, industry professionals, and student competitors from across the country to promote professional development, innovation, collaboration, and excellence in tourism and hospitality education.

Representing ASU–Ibajay was Team Hablon, composed of:

🔹 𝗠𝗿. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀 – 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗕𝗦𝗛𝗠)

Competing among 24 teams from institutions nationwide, Team Hablon showcased the dedication, teamwork, confidence, and professional readiness of ASU–Ibajay students. Their participation reflects the strong collaboration between the BSTM and BSHM programs and the university’s commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for student growth and development.

The team received guidance from Sir Jude Cahilig, with the support of Dr. Raki Michele Palomar-Domingo, Dean of the College of Hospitality and Rural Resource Management; Doc. Tonylen S. De Jose, who helped polish their performance; Prof. Jerby J. Paderes; and the university administration.

Beyond the competition, the convention provided valuable insights into emerging industry trends, leadership, innovation, and the importance of strengthening industry-academe partnerships in preparing globally competitive tourism and hospitality professionals.

Congratulations, Team Hablon! Your courage to compete, dedication to preparation, and pride in representing ASU–Ibajay on the national stage are truly commendable. You have made your university proud by embodying the spirit of collaboration, perseverance, and excellence!

‎Team 𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗖𝗘 of Aklan State University–Ibajay proudly secured a 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟕 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐆𝐨𝐯 𝟓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐈 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 held on October 23, 2026, at Sams21 Hotel in Iloilo City. The competition challenged participants to demonstrate their cybersecurity knowledge, technical skills, critical thinking, and teamwork in addressing cybersecurity-related problems.

This October, Aklan State University in Ibajay joins the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the nation in celebrating Museums and Galleries Month 2026, guided by the theme: “𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙨, 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬.”

Demonstrating creativity, innovation, and technological excellence, fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) students of Aklan State University–Ibajay brought home 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 ₱𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 in the “𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀-𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻: 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.”

Representing 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝘂𝗻-𝗔𝗴, the team composed of Jayvee V. Ascaño, Angelyn M. Tomarong, and Jhona Mae R. Tayco successfully pitched their startup project during the competition held on October 2, 2026, at the ABL Sports Complex in Kalibo, Aklan, as part of the 2026 Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Western Visayas.

The team was mentored by ICT Chairperson Mr. Jess Z. Masula and MIS Chairperson Prof. Reimar R. Tingga, whose guidance and support contributed to the team’s successful performance on the regional stage.

Also representing ASU–Ibajay in the same competition was 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗡𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘀𝗲𝘁, composed of Shun Andrei Masula, Napoleon Esto Jr., and Cooper Dowelle.

Their participation highlights the university’s growing culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological excellence, as ASU–Ibajay continues to empower students to develop innovative solutions and compete on the regional stage.

The annual RSTW, spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Western Visayas, brings together researchers, innovators, and young technology enthusiasts to showcase ideas and solutions that advance science, technology, and innovation.

On October 6, 2026, Aklan State University–Ibajay actively participated in the 2026 National CPR Caravan of the Philippine Red Cross Aklan Chapter through a CPR Training and Mass Demonstration for our students, faculty, and staff.

The activity provided our university community with essential knowledge and practical skills in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)—empowering participants to respond confidently and appropriately during medical emergencies.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the dedicated facilitators from the ASU Health Service Unit, Medical First Responders, and Philippine Red Cross Youth–Aklan Chapter for sharing their expertise and strengthening our culture of preparedness and community safety.
