Today, we celebrate more than just a date on the calendar; we celebrate the birth of the woman whose courage and compassion built the very halls where we learn, grow, and dream. On her 101st birth anniversary, we honor Madam Gloria Laureana San Pedro Rosales.

Madam Laureanaโs story is one of incredible resilience. Growing up in Bataan, she witnessed the darkest days of World War II. Yet, where others saw tragedy, she saw a calling. She emerged from those years with a singular mission: to ensure that through education, the youth would have the power to build a better, more peaceful world.

Long before modern advocacy, Madam Laureana was a champion for the underserved. Whether she was mentoring women in Marawi or establishing schools for families of modest means in Mindanao and Luzon, her goal was always the sameโto make quality education a right, not a privilege.

Beside her stood her husband, Engineer Sesenio S. Rosales. Together, they built the Capitol System of Schools, creating a legacy that spans across the nation:

โข The founding of Bataan Heroes Memorial College in 1979, a poetic return to her roots to honor the heroes of her youth.
