Congratulations to Sandrine Marie J. Reyes, Justine Ezra C. Santiago, and Rinoel Nino T. Vicoy from the Department of Computer Engineering and Mechatronics for securing the Grand Championship title in the first Mitsubishi Electric Cup (MECA) Philippines held on April 30, 2026!

Incorporating the Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation into their out-of-the-ordinary project, “OptiBean,” their out-of-the-ordinary advancement focuses on upgrading coffee production to increase both efficiency and sustainability.

Congratulations to the team! We look forward to seeing the MSU-IIT brand of innovation reach even greater heights on both national and international stages!

Their groundbreaking project, "𝑶𝒑𝒕𝒊𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒏", utilizes advanced 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 technology to modernize coffee processing, delivering a smarter and more sustainable solution for the Philippine agricultural sector.

The team’s development of 𝑶𝒑𝒕𝒊𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒏 demonstrates a sophisticated integration of industrial hardware to address local challenges while aligning with global 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 (𝗦𝗗𝗚𝘀).
