On October 27, 2025, Economics students from MSU-IIT participated in the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝑭𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 organized by the 𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝒖𝒅𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 (DBM), held at the 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒂𝒘, 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝑫𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒏.

With the theme “Strengthening Fiscal Integrity through Transparent Governance,” the event gathered economists, policymakers, and development partners to discuss recent developments and insights in fiscal policy.

The MSU-IIT team, the only presenters from Mindanao and outside Luzon, presented their undergraduate thesis titled “𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑮𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆: 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔.” The study was authored by Jara Mae B.
