The School of Interdisciplinary Studies - MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology proudly stands in solidarity with Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Student Association (MIPSA) in advancing inclusive spaces that amplify the voices, rights, and leadership of Indigenous women and youth.
Anchored on the principles of human dignity, gender equality, participatory governance, and Indigenous Peoples’ rights, LeadHER’s Voice serves as a meaningful platform where Indigenous women and youth are empowered to learn, engage, speak out, and lead within their communities.
The seminar-workshop will feature:
🔹 A symposium on women’s rights, human rights, and empowerment
🔹 A policy and advocacy-making workshop grounded on community realities
🔹 A letter-writing activity where participants can directly communicate their aspirations and concerns to policymakers
The outputs from this initiative will be formally endorsed to the Local Government Unit of Iligan City as part of a collective commitment toward inclusive and participatory governance.
This collaborative initiative is conducted together with the Gender and Development Center - MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs - MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, and Rogongon Agricultural High School.
More than a seminar, LeadHER’s Voice is a movement that nurtures transformative leadership, cultural inclusion, and community participation among Indigenous women and youth.
Through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
💜 SDG 5 – Gender Equality
📚 SDG 4 – Quality Education
⚖️ SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
🏛️ SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
