The USC Constitution Committee has officially approved on first reading the draft of the 2026 Student Constitution of West Visayas State University.

This was conducted yesterday evening, May 9, 2026, via Google Meet.

The official draft is now attached for the review of the entire student body. We encourage all students to read, reflect, and take part in shaping a constitution that represents us all.

Following the magnitude 4.3 earthquake that struck Iloilo at 9:21 AM today, the University Student Council (USC) announces the postponement of University Kaathagan 2026, originally scheduled for this afternoon.

While we were eager to conclude our institutional dialogue today, the safety of our students, faculty, and the entire West Visayas State University community remains our absolute priority. The university administration is currently conducting thorough structural assessments of all campus facilities to ensure a secure environment for everyone.

All College Student Councils (CSCs) and Official College Publications are required to attend. Likewise, class sections must 3-5 representatives to participate in the event, while university-based and college-based organizations are invited to send at least 2 representatives.

Student participants and USC officers-facilitators will be excused from their classes, provided they make the necessary arrangements with their respective colleges and professors.
