𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄, 𝐀 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓

The University Student Council joined the WVSU-Education Student Council, Inc. in its Project Pag-ATIpan on October 10, 2026, at the Ati Orphanage–ANM Children Center in Lanit, Jaro, Iloilo City.

Through this initiative, the USC reaffirmed its commitment to extending service beyond the university and fostering compassion through meaningful community engagement.

May this experience remind us that student leadership goes beyond our responsibilities on campus—it is also about showing up, sharing what we can, and making a difference in the lives of others.

A new chapter of service begins as the second batch of the USC Student Support Group (SSG) formally took their oath on September 20, 2026.

With their commitment to serve, they will join the University Student Council in supporting its programs, initiatives, and services, while helping strengthen the Council’s efforts to serve the WVSU student body.

Pursuant to the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟳𝟲, all students from the WVSU Main and Satellite Campuses are enjoined to wear their respective prescribed college or school uniforms beginning 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Students are advised to refer to the Policy on School Uniform on page 108 of the University Student Handbook for the prescribed guidelines.

Meaningful prevention begins with knowledge, understanding, and conversations that encourage individuals to make informed and responsible choices.

The WVSU University Student Council attended the four-day Training of Trainers on Life Skills Enhancement in Drug Education and Prevention for Higher Education, organized by the Commission on Higher Education and the Dangerous Drugs Board at Sotogrande Iloilo Hotel.

Through interactive discussions, group activities, and reflective exercises, the training highlighted essential life skills while emphasizing empathy, compassion, and understanding in promoting effective drug education and prevention.

𝗨𝗦𝗖 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝘂𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗮𝘄

The West Visayas State University – University Student Council (WVSU-USC) joined fellow youth leaders from 10 universities across Iloilo for the Project High Five Youth Alliance Initiative 2.0 Bootcamp, organized by Team Dugong Bughaw on September 5–6, 2026.

The two-day bootcamp brought together young advocates to develop project-based HIV advocacy initiatives aimed at promoting HIV awareness, encouraging testing, and strengthening knowledge through HIV 101. The first day focused on pitching advocacy projects and learning strategies for effectively marketing and communicating their initiatives, while the second day brought together representatives from participating universities to collaborate on a collective HIV advocacy campaign set for launch this October.

Through its participation, the WVSU-USC continues to engage in collaborative, youth-led initiatives that promote awareness, meaningful action, and positive change in the community.

The WVSU-USC extends its appreciation to Team Dugong Bughaw and its partners for providing a platform for young leaders to come together and advance HIV advocacy.
