JUST IN: Today, following the meeting with the College Student Councils (CSCs), the Central Student Government (CSG) immediately proceeded to the office of Indang Mayor Vergel Fidel to raise the lived experiences of students regarding transportation difficulties and to follow up on proposed recommendations.

With the confirmation of classes on April 10–11, 2026, the CSG coordinated with the LGU to assess and ensure the availability and efficiency of transportation across all routes.

In line with this, the CSG raised the following recommendations:

1. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀
The CSG recommended the implementation of asynchronous classes on April 10 to provide ample time for coordinating transportation availability. However, the Mayor clarified that they have no authority to declare such arrangements.

2. 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀
In the event that face-to-face classes proceed, the CSG urged the LGU to secure sufficient transportation for students across all routes. The Mayor confirmed that coordination with transport groups will be undertaken immediately to ensure availability.

3. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 “𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘆” 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀
The CSG proposed the initiation of a “libreng sakay” program for students, alongside the allocation of funds to support transport drivers. The Mayor acknowledged this recommendation and committed to raising it within the LGU for proper consideration and resource allocation.

4. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴
The CSG raised concerns regarding students who commute from areas outside Indang. In response, the Mayor shared that the LGU will coordinate with neighboring local government units to ensure collective support for student-commuters.

5. 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹-𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
The CSG inquired about the current actions of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) regarding the transportation situation. The Mayor shared that discussions remain ongoing.

Furthermore, the Mayor conveyed that the LGU is prepared to deploy additional transportation should a sudden need arise, subject to proper coordination, as also communicated with the University President.

The Central Student Government remains in active coordination with the Municipality of Indang to ensure timely updates and concrete actions addressing transportation concerns.

Following the consultation, the CSG also coordinated with terminal drivers to verify the current state of transportation availability across different routes. While some drivers noted a decline in the number of those who will be operating, they assured that transportation services will continue tomorrow.

The 𝗖𝗖𝗝 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 has officially launched the 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 to better understand the current transportation situation experienced by our fellow students.

This initiative aims to 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 encountered in daily commuting—whether it involves accessibility, cost, safety, time efficiency, or availability of transportation.
