The University Search and Rescue Team (USART) extends its sincere appreciation to the University of Southern Mindanao Hospital for allowing and entrusting the newly acquired ambulance for use in the universityโ€™s medical and emergency response operations. This support has further strengthened USARTโ€™s capacity to provide timely assistance during major university activities.

USART likewise expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Cotabato Provincial Governor Hon. Emmylou โ€œLalaโ€ Taliรฑo-Mendoza and the Provincial Government of Cotabato for their generous contribution to USM Hospital and the university community. The ambulance was officially turned over to the University of Southern Mindanao Hospital on August 26, 2026, marking another step toward strengthening the universityโ€™s capacity to respond when medical emergencies arise.

Just days after its turnover, the ambulance had already begun serving its purpose during the AGRI-Fistha 2026, where it was utilized as part of the eventโ€™s medical and emergency preparedness. It was then deployed once again during USM Freshmen Day 2026, providing USART with an additional means of responding to medical concerns throughout the university-wide celebration.

From AGRI-Fishta 2026 to Freshmenโ€™s Day 2026, its presence has already shown how a single contribution can become an immediate and practical resource for the university community.

May this ambulance continue to travel many roads in the service of life, carrying not only patients, but also hope, safety, and timely help to those who need it most.

Following the lecture and demonstrations, the University Search and Rescue Team (USART), in partnership with the University Student Government (USG) through the Department of Health and Services (DHS), conducted an evaluation of the ALERTO 2026 participants on August 22, 2026, at the ULS Convention Hall.

The skills assessment gave participants the opportunity to apply what they learned during the training. This included Basic First Aid Bandaging, Rescue Carries, and Basic Life Support (BLS). Through practical evaluation, USART assessed how well participants could execute the techniques and respond to various emergency scenarios. This process ensures that every trained student is equipped to act with confidence, compassion, and competence when faced with real emergencies.

For USART, the evaluation was more than a testโ€”it was an opportunity for participants to put their learning into practice and build the confidence needed to respond when every second matters.

Through these sessions, participants gained valuable knowledge and practical insights on how to respond during emergencies. More than learning techniques, the activity encouraged students to be prepared, stay calm, and be ready to lend a hand when help is needed.

This USG-USART partnership aims to equip students with life-saving skills and build a campus culture of readiness,u compassion, and service. When emergencies happen, trained hands and united teams save lives.

Throughout the activity, USART members served as standby medical personnel in case of any unexpected emergencies.
