The University of Southern Mindanao (USM), through its Publication and Printing Unit (PPU)—formerly the Research Publication Services Office (RPSO)—has recognized the university’s top 10 Scopus authors for 2025.

In 2025, the university produced 63 Scopus-indexed publications, with researchers in Social Sciences, Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and Medicine and Health Sciences leading the output.

To enhance faculty knowledge and skills in academic writing and publication, the College of Veterinary Medicine faculty successfully conducted a Writeshop Training today — April 22, 2026, at the CVM Accreditation Office.

Dr. Jan Clyden B. Tenorio, PPU Head, served as the resource speaker and shared valuable insights on journal selection and publication processes. Dr. Tenorio introduced USM-managed journals, highlighting the Journal of Agricultural Research, Development, Extension and Technology (JARDET) as a platform for scholarly publication. Participants gained a deeper understanding of how to identify and avoid predatory journals, ensuring the credibility and impact of their research outputs.

In addition, the session also covered the guidelines for applying for publication incentives, providing faculty with information to support their research endeavors. The training concluded with active engagement from participants, reflecting their commitment to advancing research and academic excellence.

ADVISORY | 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁

The local government unit (LGU) of Kabacan has denied any involvement in the implementation of a reported fare hike circulating among public utility tricycles, following the emergence of a posted notice inside a unit linked to a USM Tricycle Drivers Association (TDA).

The notice, which references “additional charges” under Section 2 of Ordinance No. 144, s. 2023, outlines fare conditions including discounts for senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities, as well as baggage fees and other provisions.

MinTech confirmed from LGU Kabacan that no official directive has been released regarding fare adjustments as of this writing, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the posted notice.

ADVISORY | 𝗨𝗦𝗠 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴; 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟳 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) has cancelled the planned rescheduling of Friday midterm exams to Monday, confirming that the March 27, 2026 examinations will proceed as originally scheduled.

Meanwhile, classes from March 30 to April 1, 2026 will shift to online synchronous and/or asynchronous modalities.
